«Breaking News» Five-year-old calls the cops to protect him from the Momo 'suicide challenge'

A five-year-old called the police after becoming terrified by the 'Momo' figure which has been spreading on social media.

Giovanni Pedroza dialed 911 after becoming scared by the bug-eyed online character said to have plagued social media, urging children to harm themselves.

The youngster from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was watching cartoons on YouTube when the 'viral hoax' appeared.

He spoke to a police dispatcher, who reassured him it was all a hoax.

Momo, a creepy figure at the center of the 'Momo Challenge', has been appearing on social media in recent days.

YouTube clips spliced with the ghoulish Japanese art sculpture have reportedly terrified youngsters around the globe, despite the company saying it has not seen any evidence of this.

When Giovanni called cops to report the scary woman he was told it was not real.

He told dispatcher, Natalie Gurule: 'Hello, I'm scared, [I've] seen a monster,' before asking, 'are you going to find her?'.

Natalie then reassured him: 'Yes. We're going to find out who did it, okay? But that picture that you see, that's not real. It's just pretend.'

Giovanni was then invited to meet Natalie, at the station where he was given a badge and police patches.

Police also gave him a flashlight and teddy bear to protect the youngster from any future danger.

Natalie told Gionanni during their phone conversation: 'It's fake, and they're just trying to scare kids like you.

'It's not real, and if anybody asks you to do anything like that, you always tell your mom and dad.'

'Then who made them? Who made them? A witch?', asked the terrified child.

The 911 dispatcher the replied: 'No. Just someone that was mean.'

Before hanging up she added: 'You can call me anytime, OK?'

When asked why he called police he told reporters, reports KFVS12: 'Because I don't want the Momo to come here.

'I just close my eyes and was thinking that the 'Momo Challenge' was right there.'

Natalie showed Giovanni around the station where he said he wanted to become a cops when he grows up.

The challenge originally surfaced multiple times last year, including in a report of a girl who allegedly took her own life in her family's back yard as a result of the game.

The Japanese artist who created Momo said the game surfaced in 2018 in South America as a WhatsApp 'suicide challenge' before emerging in the UK, the U.S. and Australia.

Some parents say the creature has appeared suddenly in YouTube Kids videos, threatening to kill.

But YouTube said it had 'not received any recent evidence of videos showing or promoting the Momo challenge on YouTube', despite the numerous reports, leading some to say it is a hoax.

A spokesman for the firm said in a statement: 'Contrary to press reports, we've not received any recent evidence of videos showing or promoting the 'Momo Challenge' on YouTube.

'Content of this kind would be in violation of our policies and removed immediately.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
