«Breaking News» Eva Green, 38, admits to feeling 'insecure' about her age

She's just hit another career high with a starring role in the live-action remake of Disney's Dumbo.

But Eva Green feels insecure about reaching her 40s next year because acting 'depends on the desire of people'.

Speaking to ES Magazine this week, the former Bond Girl, 38, says she's tired of hearing women say they are 'more confident' as they age when growing older can actually be 'difficult'.

She explained: ‘There is always that insecurity [about aging]. You depend on the desire of people.

'I read interviews with women going [smug voice], “Oh, I’m soooo confident now I am in my 30s or in my 40s, I have found myself."

'Well, actually, pfft, it is difficult for an actor, or for any woman, ageing. You think, my God, will people still like me? I’ll be in my 40s soon but I always feel like I am 15.’

Ever since her breakout role as Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, Eva has chosen to remain 'mysterious' about her previous relationships, and stands by it in the new interview.

Quizzed about whether or not she'd like a family in her 40s, Eva said:  ‘I don’t know. You need to find the right person. And I hate planning. In three months I might be on a job. Or I might be dead tomorrow.’

The brunette beauty, who turns 39 this July, covers this week's ES in a canary yellow ball gown, styled by Nicky Yates.

Inside, she poses in a glamorous green dress as she discusses breathing new life into a beloved 80-year tale.

She plays areal artist Colette Marchant, alongside Colin Farrell and Danny DeVito and explains the hidden suffering behind her character.

‘I see her like a bird in a gold cage,' she says. 'She lives in luxury, is able to live her passion as an aerialist but she is lying to herself.

'When she meets Dumbo she realises her life is empty and she wants love in her life and a family.

'It’s wonderful that Disney chose Tim for this because you know it’s not going to be all unicorns and rainbows.’

Eva was previously the star of Burton's 2016 film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

And, like Helena Bonham Carter's famous ex Burton, the French-born actress now lives in London.

She says: ‘I wanted to be my own person and go to another country. I loved London — I studied there [at Webber Douglas drama academy] before I moved there — and I bought a little flat in Primrose Hill.

'My agent looked after me and I began to make friends. I can’t say Paris is ugly but it lacks trees and London has that village feel. People are less judgemental in London and I love the British sense of humour.’

In the interview, Eva also addresses the allegations she made against disgraced movie director Harvey Weinstein in 2017.

The actress claims he threatened to destroy her career after she 'pushed him off' at a professional meeting in Paris in an exchange that left her 'shocked and disgusted'.

She now says: ‘He was like a god. He could make you, destroy you. You think, maybe something will change — I could win an Oscar!

'So the first time you meet him you feel privileged. But what happened [to him] is a miracle. There is justice. But you know, there are a***holes everywhere, in every field.’

The full interview appears in this week’s issue of ES Magazine, Thursday 28th March 2019.

Speaking to ES Magazine this week, the former Bond Girl,...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
