«Breaking News» Pence dismisses suggestions of a link between Trump rhetoric and attacks

Vice President Mike Pence dismissed suggestions of a link between President Donald Trump's fiery rhetoric and acts of violence that have taken place in recent days with pipe bombing attempts on prominent Americans and Saturday's shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

'Everyone has their own style and frankly people on both sides of the aisle use strong language about our political differences but I just don't think you can connect it to threats or acts of violence,' he told NBC News in an interview that aired Sunday.

'The president and I have different styles but the president connected to the American people because he spoke plainly and he spoke the way he speaks about the issues of the day in politics,' he noted.

Pence rejected the idea that the kind of fiery rhetoric used by him and the president - Pence referred to Democrats as a 'mob' in a campaign speech and Trump has used derogatory names like 'wacko' and 'low IQ' to describe people - strokes any flames of violence.

'The American people believe in the freedom of speech. Throughout the history of this country we've always had vigorous debates. And then we settle those debates in the ballot box. We don't settle them through acts and threats of violence like the pipe bombs we saw sent to the Obamas, the Clintons, to CNN, and others. And we have no tolerance for the anti-semitic violence that we saw rear its ugly head in Pittsburgh,' the vice president told NBC News Saturday after a campaign rally in Las Vegas.

He also cautioned a word of warning about trying to connect acts of violence with freedom of speech.

'I think we have to be careful to connect the kind of violent behavior we witnessed in Pittsburgh today, the threats of violence against prominent Americans that we witnessed in the pipe bombs, what happened in Sutherland Springs Texas or what happened here in Las Vegas to the political debate. We want a free and open political debate in America where everyone expresses themselves passionately and openly,' he said. 'But also recognize the difference between passionate debate and acts of evil.'

He added that the American people can differentiate between the two.

'I don't think the America people connect them. The American people believe those who are responsible are the people that actually conduct these threats,' he said.

After last week's mailed bombings to the Washington D.C. home of Barack and Michelle Obama, the New York home of Bill and Hillary Clinton, to CNN's New York headquarters, and to Congresswoman Maxine Waters' offices, Trump notably toned down his rhetoric.

The president  called for a 'civil tone' in politics at a campaign rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday evening in the wake of bombing attempts on his political rivals.

Trump, who often engages in provocative language and uses derogatory names against his political opponents, carefully tempered his words before the cheering crowd and repeatedly pointed out his own affable behavior, saying he was being 'nice.'

'And by the way, do you see how nice I'm behaving tonight?' Trump asked the crowd. 'Have you ever seen this? We're all behaving very well.'

'And hopefully we can keep it that way, right? We're going to keep it that way,' he added.

'I'm trying to be nice,' he said many times throughout the evening.

In the wake of Saturday's shooting in a Pittsburgh synagogue that left 11 dead, the president said it was an 'evil' act and an 'assault on humanity.'

Trump and Pence are on separate campaign swings around the country as they try to stop a blue wave from giving Democrats control of Capitol Hill.

«Breaking News» Iran's Khamenei calls for fight against enemy...

Oct 28 (Reuters) - Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on Sunday for the stepping up of efforts to fight enemy "infiltration" in a speech to officials in charge of cyber defence, state television reported.

"In the face of the enemy's complex practices, our civil defence should ... confront infiltration through scientific, accurate, and up-to-date ... action," Ayatollah Khamenei told civil defence officials, who are in charge of areas including cyber defence.

The television report did not give details of the "infiltration" Khamenei was referring to.

Iranian officials have long warned about Western cultural influences through entertainment, social media and the Internet as a threat against Islamic and revolutionary values.

A decade ago, Iran's nuclear programme was hit by Stuxnet, a virus which was deployed by U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies against a uranium enrichment facility.

Gholamreza Jalali, head of Iran´s civil defence agency, said on Sunday that Iran had recently neutralised a new version of Stuxnet.

"Recently we discovered a new generation of Stuxnet which consisted of several parts ... and was trying to enter our systems," Jalali was quoted as saying by the semi-official ISNA news agency at a news conference marking Iran's civil defence day. He did not give further details. (Reporting by Dubai newsroom; Editing by Toby Chopra)

«Breaking News» Gig economy workers to hold protest ahead of Uber case...

Hundreds of workers from the so-called gig economy are to stage a demonstration ahead of the latest legal hearing over their employment rights.

The long-running argument over the status of drivers at ride-hailing firm Uber will go before the Court of Appeal on Tuesday.

Uber drivers will be joined by hundreds of workers from other gig economy companies in a march through London ahead of the case.

The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB), which is involved in the case, said it is expected to be the biggest “precarious workers” march ever held in the UK.

Couriers, riders, outsourced cleaners, restaurant workers and others will be involved while a rally will also be held in Glasgow.

The protesters will march to the Royal Courts of Justice, then go to the University of London, where outsourced workers, including cleaners, receptionists and security officers, will be on strike to end outsourcing, before passing NHS contractor The Doctors Laboratory, where medical couriers say their pay has been cut.

Uber drivers will be joined by workers from other gig economy companies in a march through London (Lauren Hurley/PA)

Uber case co-claimant and IWGB United private hire drivers branch chairman James Farrar said: “What is clear from the different kinds of workers supporting us in this demonstration is that unity among precarious workers has never been stronger and together we will defeat the dishonest bosses that are trying to do away with our most basic employment rights.”

The GMB, which is also involved in the case, said Uber drivers are estimated to be an average of £18,000 out of pocket two years after the company lost an employment tribunal case over the employment status of drivers.

Uber took the case to the Employment Appeals Tribunal last year and lost.

Sue Harris, the GMB’s legal director, said: “These figures lay bare the human cost of Uber continuing to refuse to accept the ruling of the courts.

“While the company are wasting money losing appeal after appeal, their drivers are up to £18,000 out of pocket for the last two years alone.”

An Uber spokesman said: “Almost all taxi and private hire drivers have been self-employed for decades, long before our app existed.

“A recent Oxford University study found that drivers make more than the London living wage and want to keep the freedom to choose if, when and where they drive.

“If drivers were classed as workers they would inevitably lose some of the freedom and flexibility that comes with being their own boss.

“We believe the Employment Appeal Tribunal last year fundamentally misunderstood how we operate. For example, they relied on the assertion that drivers are required to take 80% of trips sent to them when logged into the app, which has never been the case in the UK.

“Over the last two years we’ve made many changes to give drivers even more control over how they use the app, alongside more security through sickness, maternity and paternity protections. We’ll keep listening to drivers and introduce further improvements.”

Following a drunken rant he allegedly made during their holiday in Portugal, The Sun also claims Caroline is having second thoughts about him, after they reconciled after their split during the summer.

According to the publication, Andrew had been booted out of a juice retreat for bringing in alcohol before launching into an 'abusive' shouting tirade at his Love Island host girlfriend.

She was said to be 'devastated' by his behaviour which led fellow guests at the resort to complain, as management chose to evict Andrew for the incident.

It was also reported that she returned home on Thursday, and is now considering how to proceed with their relationship and whether they have a future together.

«Breaking News» Surveillance video shows MAGAbomber suspect reading press clippings at strip club

Just hours before his arrest, suspected MAGAbomber Cesar Sayoc read newspaper clippings at the strip club where he worked.

New surveillance footage has revealed Sayoc's last movements before he was arrested and charged with five federal crimes on Friday.

Sayoc, 56, allegedly sent at least 14 explosive devices to a number of prominent Democrats, including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Bill and Hillary Clinton this week.

He has been charged with illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents and certain other persons, assaulting current and former federal officers, interstate transportation of an explosive, and threatening interstate communications.

Surveillance footage, which was obtained by ABC News, shows Sayoc bringing bags into Ultra Gentleman's Club in West Palm Beach Florida around 11.35am on Thursday.

Sayoc left the club - where he worked as a DJ - after his shift ended at 9pm and went to the gym, returning at 2.16am to collect his tips.

Footage then shows Sayoc hanging out at the club, spreading newspapers across an empty table in front of the stage.

Newspapers this week were filled with stories about the attempted bomb attacks on Democrats and prominent critics of Donald Trump.

Sources who were at the club said they say Sayoc going through press clippings at the club.

Some claimed they also saw Sayoc burning items in a small fire outside his van in the club's parking lot before he went back inside around 2am.

Sayoc was arrested just before noon on Friday in the parking lot of AutoZone car parts store in Plantation.

The parking lot was about 40 minutes away from the strip club.

Sayoc was reportedly living out of his van, which was covered with anti-liberal propaganda and pro-Trump messages.

Authorities found a printer, stamps, paper, unidentified powder, and equipment for soldering - a process in which two or more items are joined together by melting.

Law enforcement sources believe the items indicate Sayoc may have assembled the alleged explosive devices inside his van.

Sayoc's van was impounded by authorities on Friday as Twitter users shared photos of the vehicle, which was covered in stickers supporting Trump.

Other stickers featuring red shooting targets over the faces of Obama, Hillary Clinton, Green Party Leader Jill Stein, liberal filmmaker Michael Moore and CNN commentator Van Jones were juxtaposed next to an image of Trump standing triumphantly on top of a military tank.

Prominently featured on the side of the van are the words: 'I Am Donald Trump & I Approve This Message'.

Many on social media have now accused the president himself of playing a role in this week's mail bombing spree through his frequently controversial rhetoric.

Multiple people managed to snap photos of the sticker-laden van before it was placed under a blue tarp and driven away by law enforcement.

Many of the messages sound eerily similar to Trump's own comments, such as one poster with the words 'THE SWAMP' over the faces of top Democratic leaders, left-wing pundits and members of the media.

Below that image are the words 'DISHONEST MEDIA' and 'CNN SUCKS' next to a photo of Jones with a target on his chest.

At the top of the back passenger-side window are several large stickers from Trump's 2016 presidential campaign which show the then-candidate and his running mate Mike Pence with their thumbs up.

The messages portrayed on the impounded vehicle echo and often copy directly those seen on Sayoc's social media pages.

According to his Facebook page, Sayoc is a Trump fan who posted pictures and videos of himself at one of the President's rallies in October 2016.

He posted a photograph of himself wearing a MAGA hat in front of the US Capitol in 2017.

Last year Sayoc shared a photograph of Governor Rick Scott and Donald Trump, writing: 'The greatest Governor in Country Fla Rick Scott and great friend of We Unconquered Seminole Tribe . Trump Trump Trump.'

That photograph appeared to be featured on the van as it was impounded on Friday.

Sayoc also expressed his dislike of Hillary Clinton and often posted stories about incidents of Islamic terrorism.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
