Jenna Bush Hager is enjoying a spring break vacation with her daughters before taking over for Kathie Lee Gifford on the Today show next month, but her getaway caused her to miss out on her co-worker's going away party.
The 37-year-old, who will be co-hosting the fourth hour of the morning show, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a sweet photo of herself cuddling her eldest daughter, Mila.
'A little time away with my little!' she captioned the image, which was taken somewhere a lot warmer than New York City in March.
Love: Jenna Bush Hager, 37, shared a photo of herself with her daughter Mila on Wednesday. She is enjoying a spring break trip with Mila, five, and her younger daughter Poppy, three
It's likely that Jenna and her family are enjoying some fun in the sun in Florida. A few years ago, the mother-of-two enjoyed a similar spring break trip with her little ones Mila and Poppy, three, in Boca Grande, a village on Gasparilla Island in Florida.
While you were gone: Jenna missed her Today co-star Kathie Lee Gifford's farewell party in New York City on Tuesday evening
In the snapshot, Jenna is wearing a sleeveless checkered dress and is sitting with her legs crossed beneath her while relaxing in an outdoor chair.
Little Mila is nestled in her mom's lap, and they are both smiling as Jenna squeezes her close. Like her mom, the five-year-old is also dressed for warm weather in a sleeveless dress featuring a koala bear pattern.
Jenna's snapshot was liked by her Today co-star Savannah Guthrie and received a comment from her twin sister, Barbara Bush, who wrote: 'Love that little!'
Many fans wrote that they can't wait for her to start co-hosting the fourth hour of the Today show full time.
'Good for you! Enjoy your time off before your big moment with Hoda,' one person commented. 'Can't wait to watch!'
While Jenna was soaking up the sun in Florida, she missed out on her Today show predecessor's farewell bash at the Times Square Edition Hotel in New York City on Tuesday.
So sweet: Kathie Lee, 65, celebrated 11 years with the Today show with a farewell bash at the Times Square Edition Hotel. She and her longtime co-star Hoda Kotb, 54, wore matching white
Today show stars: Savannah Guthrie wore an edgy black dress to the event, while Al Roker was all smiles in a gray suit
Gang's (almost) all here! Dylan Dreyer, Carson Daley, and Lester Holt (left to right) were also at the bash
Kathie Lee, 65, will officially be leaving the fourth hour of Today when her contract ends in April after 11 years on the show.
In spite of the emotional departure, she managed to keep her spirits lifted as she celebrated her time on the popular morning show alongside her longtime co-host Hoda Kotb.
The soon-to-be former colleagues were even wearing matching all-white for the special event.
Many of Kathie Lee's Today co-stars were in attendance, including Savannah, Dylan Dreyer, Al Roker, Carson Daley, and Lester Holt.
Kathie Lee revealed in December she would be leaving the fourth hour of the show, after joining the segment in September 2007.
Old friends: Hoda and Kathie Lee couldn't help but get emotional during their toast
Moving on: The longtime host revealed she was leaving the show in December, and a few months later it was announced that Jenna will serve as her replacement
It was announced last month that Jenna would be the one taking over for Kathie Lee following her retirement.
It is a big promotion for the former first daughter, who frequently filled in for both Kathie Lee and Hoda on the fourth hour.
Jenna had some kind words to say about her predecessor after the announcement.
'You have been such a role model and so generous with your time,' she told Kathie Lee. 'You are beloved here in so many ways and if I can use some of your grace and have a half of what you’ve done, my life will be a very happy one.'
Kathie Lee then praised Jenna, who joined the show back in 2009, just one year after her father left office.
Another trip: Last week, Jenna and her daughters were enjoying a snowy mountain getaway
Too cute: The mom posted pictures of her girls having fun inside a ski lodge with their cousins
'You keep trusting your instincts and you’re going to sit next to the best person in the whole world because she has your back, because she has your heart,' she said. 'It’s going to be fun. You guys are going to have a ball.'
Jenna missing Kathie Lee's goodbye bash was likely the result of bad timing. The on-air personality is known to fly south in March, and she appeared to be enjoying a few trips with her kids before starting her new job.
Just last week, the mom shared photos of herself sledding with her daughters during a snowy mountain getaway. She also posted snapshots of her girls having fun inside a ski lodge with their cousins.
'A quick girl’s trip with my babes to the [mountain emoji,' Jenna captioned the images.

Big news: Jenna's vacation has also coincided with Wednesday's release of excerpts from her late grandmother Barbara Bush's upcoming biography, 'The Matriarch'
Jenna's latest vacation has also coincided with Wednesday's release of excerpts from her late grandmother Barbara Bush's upcoming biography, 'The Matriarch.'
In the excerpts, the former first lady's thoughts about Donald Trump were revealed.
She said he caused her 'angst' during the 2016 election and led her to question whether she was still a Republican in the months before she died.
In a February 2018 interview, she was asked if she still considered herself a Republican. She replied, 'I'd probably say "no" today.'
Barbara also recalled drafting a funny letter to mail after the election congratulating Bill Clinton on becoming a presidential spouse. But she said when she woke up, she realized 'to my horror that Trump had won.'
A friend even gave Barbara a clock that counted down the time remaining in Trump's first term that she kept at her bedside.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
