The Royals star will join a lineup of New Zealand artists, including Anika Moa, Bene, Bic Runga, Fat Freddy's Drop and Stan Walker.

There will also be another concert in Auckland on Sunday April 13. Tickets will go on sale on March 28.

All proceeds go towards the Our People, Our City fund, created by the Christchurch Foundation, to help those affected by the terror attacks.

'We just had to step up together and do something to help the devastated families but also to show that we are one country,' concert promoter Brent Eccles said.

'Music has the power to heal and bring us together in ways nothing else does,' added promoter Mark Kneebone of Live Nation.

'It is a unifying force across cultures, languages and religions and we will use music to honour the ones we have lost, their families and all affected by this tragedy.'

Fifty people were killed in the terrorist attack on two mosques on March 15. The massacre was the biggest mass shooting in New Zealand's modern history.

Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, lives in her home city of Auckland with her boyfriend of three years, Justin Warren.

She sparked rumours the pair could be engaged earlier this month when she was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger.

Lorde rose to fame at just 16 years old when her debut single Royals became a hit single across the world.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
