A Florida man snuck up behind a Broward County public defender and punched her in the side of head in a Fort Lauderdale courtroom on Wednesday.

Attorney Julie Chase was struck by William Green, 27, while she was representing another person before Judge Jackie Powell in a first appearance hearing.

Green was captured on camera attacking Chase from behind, as bond appearances are recorded and streamed live by local media outlets.

Chase was taken to a hospital, later telling Local 10 news, 'I'm doing OK,' upon her release.

Green, who had been arrested on Tuesday on a battery charge, is seen in the video approaching Chase from behind while she's looking down at paperwork.

He pulls his arm back and then proceeds to strike her on the left side of the head.

Chase never saw it coming, and neither did the woman she was in the process of representing, who flinches in surprise.

After being struck, Chase recoils, briefly moving out of the camera's view.

She then shows back up in the lower part of the screen, holding her ear.

As commotion ensues with the people in court all clearly shocked at what has just occurred, Green stands there, seemingly poised with fists ready to throw another punch.

After a moment, officers apprehend Green and tackle to him the ground, as Judge Powell asks, 'Is Ms. Chase OK?'

Other defendants who had been awaiting their turn in front of the judge moved out of the way as officers cuffed Green, and eventually carried him out of the courtroom.

Chase was later taken to Broward Health Medical Center for evaluation.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
