«Breaking News» Woman who forgave joyrider who nearly killed her by throwing turkey through her windshield has died

The Long Island woman who was nearly killed by a frozen turkey which was flung through her windshield in 2004 has died.

Victoria Ruvolo, 59, made national headlines when she forgave Ryan Cushing, who was 18 years old at the time he flung a 20-pound turkey out of a moving car on a Long Island highway in November 2004.

On November 12, 2004, Cushing was with a group of friends when they purchased a turkey with a stolen credit card.

They were taking a joyride on Sunrise Highway in Ronkonkoma when Cushing threw the turkey out of the car.

Ruvolo needed 10 hours of emergency surgery, weeks in a coma, and months of rehabilitation, though doctors said she was lucky to be alive

The bird smashed through Ruvolo’s windshield and into her face, according to News 12 Long Island.

Every bone in Ruvolo’s face was broken, and doctors needed to perform life-saving surgery for 10 hours.

Surgeons put in three titanium plates as well as a wire mesh for her left eye socket.

She then spent weeks in a medically induced coma, according to the New York Post.

Ruvolo, who miraculously survived, needed months of rehabilitation.

Cushing and his friends were arrested.

As part of a plea agreement, the friends agreed to testify against Cushing.

If convicted, Cushing could have gone to prison for 25 years.

But Ruvolo intervened on his behalf and worked with his lawyer to try to get a reduced sentence.

‘Because I’d experienced the death of two brothers when I was much younger, I felt strongly that I didn’t want to be responsible for taking this other young person’s life,’ Ruvolo told The Forgiveness Project.

‘I didn’t want Ryan to rot in jail.’

It was later learned that Cushing and a group of friends bought the 20-pound frozen turkey (above) with a stolen credit card

The judge took Ruvolo’s plea for mercy into account and sentenced Cushing to six months in prison followed by five years of probation.

Ruvolo spent the rest of her life as a motivational speaker who preached forgiveness to inmates and troubled youth.

The cause of her death is not known at this time.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
