«Breaking News» Mother-of-three and father-of-two whose spouses died one month apart marry each other

A young widow and widower who found love after loss describe how their two families came together to become the real-life Brady Bunch.

Brittany Price Brooker, 29, and Daniel Brooker, 34, tragically lost their spouses Patrick Price, 30, and Lyndsie Brooker, 28, within one month of each other in 2015.

Brittany's husband Patrick, a parole officer, died when his heart stopped beating while at work in September, while Daniel's wife Lyndsie lost her battle with ovarian cancer in August of the same year.

In one day Brittany became a single parent to her boys Teyton, six, Evan, five, and Nathan, four, while Daniel faced life as a single dad to Aubrey, seven, and Ethan, eight.

The couple sat down with DailyMailTV and described how their blended family became the modern 'Brooker Bunch' version of the popular 70s sitcom.

Brittany, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Daniel, who lived three hours away in Augusta, met in February 2017 while they were helping a mutual friend who had also been widowed.

The pair instantly bonded over their shared experience and were pleased when their children took a liking to one another during a trip to Brittany's hometown one month later.

The couple started to consider a future together and signed up for pre-marital and family counseling for all of their five children.

Daniel told DailyMailTV that his wife Lyndsie was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was 19 and battled the disease three times.

'In early 2014 they discovered her cancer had spread to her stomach and lymph nodes,' he said. 'She had chemo and radiation but there came a point where her doctors told us there was nothing more they could do.'

After a surgery during Lyndsie's first bout with cancer left her unable to bear children, the couple adopted a daughter Aubrey and son Ethan.

But by August 2015, Daniel was a single father-of-two.

'After she died I had two or three months of heavy, heavy grief where I was physically sick from the pain. I asked God, ''Why?'' I couldn't understand,' Daniel said.

'It's hard because when you get married you have a plan, to have kids, to buy a house, to get a dog. When your partner dies suddenly there is no normal, there is no plan.'

He said during his grieving he and his children stuck together and Daniel allowed his children to see his pain.

Less than two years later, the mourning father met Brittany, telling DailyMailTV, 'I knew immediately that there was something different about her.

'When I met Brittany, It wasn't just that she had been where I had been. It was that I saw where she was going. The way she pointed people towards Jesus was attractive and she's beautiful.

'She has such a loving influence on the kid,' he gushed about his wife.

Brittany said she felt 'immediate numbness of grief and loss' when her husband Patrick died.

'I kept thinking, ''I can't believe this is my life,'' she said.

'The hardest part was that after Patrick was gone I felt married but I wasn't. I had known him since I was five years old and now he just wasn't there anymore,' she added.

'Daniel's wife passed away one month before Patrick. He lived three hours away in Augusta,' she said. 'We met while we were counseling another family who had lost someone to cancer.

'We formed a friendship and we emailed back and forth for a month before we talked on the phone. That first conversation was five hours long. We connected on every level.'

Brittany said when they introduced their children to each other, the kids immediately hit it off.

At the end of their weekend trips when Daniel and his kids would pack up to leave, Brittany said the children would cry because they didn't want them to leave.

'We introduced our children in March. Everyone came to my parents house in Atlanta and it was very organic. The kids all got along so well. We started spending time together every weekend. Daniel and his kids would travel to Atlanta.'

At one point, one of Brittany's sons suggested that she should marry Daniel.

'When you walk through death you start to look at life differently,' Brittany said. 'It was an amazing blessing to meet Daniel.

'We started talking about marriage right away.'

Daniel, a financial marketing consultant, and his children relocated to Atlanta where he wed Brittany in a sweet ceremony in July 2017.

The pair said blending their two families was a challenge but they made sure their children were supported by making counseling a priority in their lives.

Brittany said: 'Blending your family has its challenges. It is two families coming together so it's not going to be easy.'

'It was chaotic. We were like a travelling circus,' Brittany said.  'It takes a while for your children to feel that security in their family.'

Daniel added: 'The first year was tough but I think we all really feel like a family now.'

The couple say they make it a priority to honor their late spouses and make sure their children remember the parents they lost.

'You have to be very open and understanding about talking about their mom and dads that are in heaven,' Brittany said.

Brittany said they regularly talk about the children's 'mom and dad in heaven' and keep Patrick and Lyndsie's memories alive through individual scrapbooks.

Brittany said: 'After Patrick died I made each of my boys a ''Daddy Book'' which has all of the photos of each of them with their dad.

'When Aubrey and Ethan moved in I made them a ''Mommy Book'' with photos of them with Lyndsie.'

Daniel said: 'My kids often talk about Lyndsie and the boys talk about Patrick. They're a part of our lives.'

Brittany and Daniel have not ruled out the possibility of bringing a sixth child into the family, but say for now they are focusing on the five children in front of them

Brittany said the family's neighbors and church friends compare them to the Brady Bunch, a fictional family who also came together after bereavement.

The mother-of-five, who travels around the US to speak about her experience with loss and is a worship leader, said she feels blessed to have found love again with Daniel.

'Daniel is outgoing. He is so fun. He can bring life to anything and he's so caring.

'The other day I looked out the window and saw him jumping on the trampoline with the kids and it melted my heart. He makes me and the kids feel very special, valued and safe.'

Daniel added: 'Brittany is beautiful both inside and out. She's a wonderful mother.

'I think our story shows that there is life after loss if you just have hope in the Lord.'

As for whether the couple will bring a sixth child into the family, they're not ruling out the possibility but say they are focusing on the five youngsters in front of them.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
