«Breaking News» European royals who will celebrate Prince Charles birthday

A host of European royals are set to gather in London tonight to celebrate the Prince of Wales' landmark 70th birthday.

Kings, queens, princes and princesses from across the continent are expected to descend on Buckingham Palace for a glittering banquet held in Charles' honour.

The guest list is shaping up to be suitably gilded, with a spate of royals set to hobnob with the likes of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan.

Denmark's royal household has confirmed to MailOnline that Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik will be attending on behalf of the Danish royal family.

Norway's heir to the throne, Crown Prince Haakon, is listed as regent on November 12, suggesting that Queen Sonja and King Harald could be travelling to the UK, Royal Central reports.

And the Serbian Royal Court has indicated that the royal family have received an invitation, but did not reveal whether they would be attending.

Incidentally, Crown Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia also celebrated her birthday this week, turning 75 on Tuesday.

Royal Central also reports that the Swedish royals - King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel - will not be attending due to a prior commitment.

The soirée will see hundreds of guests enjoy a reception followed by a lavish dinner, possibly in Buckingham Palace's opulent state rooms, with details kept strictly under wraps ahead of the big night.

It was revealed in September that invitations had already been sent out by the Queen, who is set to deliver a short speech.

Sweden's most senior royals will instead be busy hosting a state visit from Italian President Sergio Mattarella between 12 and 15 November.

As personal friends of Charles and Camilla, it is thought to be 'highly likely' that Norway's royal couple will attend.

Spain's King Felipe VI is visiting Guatemala today, meaning the royal household is unlikely to be making an appearance tonight.

The Dutch royals recently travelled to London for an official state visit to the UK, but are also unlikely to join the celebrations tonight after Queen Máxima was spotted carrying out engagements in The Hague on Wednesday morning.

MailOnline has contacted Buckingham Palace and the Spanish Royal Household for comment.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
