«Breaking News» Deck the halls with a BROLLY! Met Office's long range festive forecast predicts heavy rain

Christmas revellers might need to bring a brolly with them according to the latest long-range forecasts by the Met Office

Initial forecasts for the festive period predict wet and windy weather affecting all areas of the UK.

According to the long-range prediction: 'This will bring heavy rain and gales or severe gales, with a chance that it may even turn stormy at times.

'Overall, it is likely to be mild across much of the country with snow tending to be confined to hills in the north. However, in any drier interludes it will turn colder.'

However, it is still too far to accurately predict conditions on the big day, although bookmakers have slashed odds on a White Christmas, with Ladbrokes claiming there was a 6/5 chance of a dusting of snow in Aberdeen or 9/2 for London.

However, Storm Diana which has been battering the country with 80mph winds has already claimed several lives.

More rain is due to hit the country overnight with a gloomy start to tomorrow morning

But while temperatures at the start of December normally average 9-10C (48-50F), it could reach 15C (59F) in central and southern areas on Sunday.

A further band of rain is then due to arrive in the west tomorrow and move across the country through the early part of Sunday followed by showers.

The best chance of bright and sunny weather is on Sunday, when sunshine and showers are expected in the South West and South Wales in the afternoon.

A Met Office spokesman said: ‘Saturday will have a rather cloudy start with rain across central and southern areas.

‘It will slowly turn drier in the afternoon, but remaining largely cloudy.’ The bands of rain are due to an area of low pressure crossing the country, with more ‘unsettled weather’ over the next few days.

The only exception is set to be Monday, when sunny intervals are expected in the Midlands and north.

Southern areas are set to be cloudier with showers and spells of rain.

It is also due to turn cooler, with ground frosts expected overnight on Monday into Tuesday, when temperatures could fall to 2C (36F) in the south and 0C (32F) in northern areas.

A further band of rain is due to cross the country on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

A Met Office spokesman said: ‘South-eastern parts of the UK may start wet on Wednesday, but rain will clear, with most areas becoming dry and bright.

‘This will lead to a cold night and a widespread frost to start the day on Thursday.’ But then yet more wet and windy weather is due to move in ahead of next weekend and the following week, when forecasters say it is likely to remain ‘unsettled with further spells of wet and windy weather, interspersed by drier, brighter and showery interludes’.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
