«Breaking News» Two nuns 'stole substantial amounts of money from a Catholic school over a number of years'

A Los Angeles church says that two retired nuns who worked at its school stole ‘substantial’ sums of money over a number of years, but the archdiocese says it will not seek criminal charges against them.

St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach says it conducted an internal investigation which found that the former principal of St. James School, Sister Mary Margaret Kreuper, and former teacher Sister Lana Chang embezzled funds for their own personal use, KTLA-TV reported.

A church pastor, Monsignor Michael Meyers, announced in a letter that the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the nuns’ order, is cooperating in an effort to learn just how much money was taken, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Kreuper spent almost 29 years as principal at St. James School. She retired at the end of the 2017-18 school year, a spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles said.

Chang taught eighth grade for almost 20 years. She was promoted to vice principal, a job she held for several years before she also retired after last school year.

The sisters’ order will reimburse the school. It also said it will mete out ‘appropriate’ penalties to the nuns.

But the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has indicated that it will not pursue criminal charges against the nuns.

Instead, it prefers to handle the matter internally.

In his letter, Meyers said that the school has put in place new procedural and oversight mechanisms to ensure that similar instances won’t happen again.

‘I want to assure you that the investigation has disclosed that, notwithstanding this misappropriation, no student or program at St. James has suffered any loss of educational resources, opportunities, or innovations,’ he wrote.

‘In sum, the education of your children has not and will not be affected by these events.’

Meyers writes that Kreuper and Chang have asked for forgiveness and feel ‘deep remorse.’

‘They and their Order pray that you have not lost trust or faith in the educators and administrators of the school,’ he wrote.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
