«Breaking News» Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin have VERY awkward The One Show cameo

The One Show suffered a very awkward technical gaffe, when a cameo by two Stranger Things' stars didn't quite work out as planned.

Gaten Matarazzo, 16, and Caleb McLaughlin, 17, were left stunned in silence as a camera cut to them while they were at the For The Love Of Sci-Fi convention in Manchester on Friday.

The pair appeared as part of a segment during an interview with James McAvoy, 39, where co-hosts Alex Jones and Sarah Cox were testing the self-professed sci-fi expert on his knowledge of the genre.

The X-Men star was asked to name the Netflix show that saw a group of kids rescue their friend from the Upside Down.

But James was perplexed by the question, asking the hosts who they were talking about before Caleb and Gaten appeared on the screen behind them.

The screen they were projected on was fitted in portrait, so at first the two actors were only half visible before the camera showed them fully on screen.

Awkwardly staring at the camera, and asking what they were supposed to do, Caleb quickly shook his head and gave a thumbs down to indicate something was awry.

But, the camera didn't cut away from them just yet and as Gaten stared blankly at the camera Caleb looked to his co-star and began laughing before shrugging it off.

Cutting back to the studio, James grimaced before continuing with the interview despite the blunder.

While another aptly joked: 'Oh dear, cringeworthy segment underway. #theoneshow'

One Twitter user took the awkward moment differently, as they wrote: 'You have to feel sorry for James McAvoy on #TheOneShow - keep going, it'll be over soon....'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
