«Breaking News» I'm A Celebrity: Noel Edmonds confesses to using his personal black taxi cab to avoid heavy traffic

Noel Edmonds has confessed to using his personal black taxi cab to drive in bus lanes to avoid heavy traffic in Bristol on Thursday evening's edition of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

The TV presenter, 69, caused controversy in 2009 when pictures emerged of him driving his black cab in bus lanes with a fully-clothed mannequin sitting in the back.

Speaking to his fellow camp mates, Noel spilled the beans on how he got his hands on the cab, saying it was a gift from his wife Liz.

He said: 'Bristol’s traffic is chaotic, so Liz bought me a black cab and I got to work in 20 minutes rather than an hour and 20 minutes," he explained.

'I can claim to be the person that cost Bristol Council a huge amount of money. When it hit the news that I was going down the bus lanes in my black cab, they put cameras on all the lanes.'

The conversation was sparked after Emily Atack, 29, told the group she failed her driver's test five times due to nearly running a child over, running red lights and almost driving into her own front door.

This led to the Deal Or No Deal star opening up about his own car troubles and the story behind the cab.

Noel admitted he put a mannequin in the cab, which he named Candice, to avoid people thinking he was a real taxi driver and trying to hop into the back seat.

He said: 'I used to have a mannequin in the back called Candice, because when it was wet and I pulled up at the lights people tried to get in.

'I reckoned I saved five months of my life when I added up the hours in the morning and evening.'

When the TV star was given a ticket, he took matters into his own hands and found an alternative form of transport.

Switching things up: Noel said: 'When I got the ticket, I didn’t take my cab in the bus lane any more. I did what any sane person would do: I bought a Routemaster bus.

'I can drive it on a car licence as long as there are no more than nine people on board,' he added with a smirk.

Speaking about her failed driving tests, Emily admitted she has tried in vain to learn how to drive since her teens.

'I started learning when I was 17 and took the tests over two to three years but I gave up in the end,' she revealed. 'I tried!'

Asked by Fleur East, 31, what she did wrong, Emily said: 'So the first one I nearly ran a child over...'

'That's never a good start!' Anne Hegerty chimed in.

'The second one,' Emily went on. 'I ran every red light you can imagine...

'Once I was practising parking in the drive but drove straight through the front door.

'I can’t grasp the concept of concentrating on more than one thing at a time and there is so much to think about with driving.'

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV at 9pm.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
