«Breaking News» Tory whips threaten to cancel CHRISTMAS for MPs if they vote down Brexit

Tory whips have threatened to cancel Christmas for MPs if they vote down Theresa May's under-fire Brexit deal.

The enforcers of party discipline have been piling pressure on mutinous Tories by warning they could have to stay in Parliament for the festive season.

But the PM looks set for a humiliating defeat when her deal is voted on in two weeks' time as the number of Tory rebels who have vowed to vote it down has reached 100.

Mrs May's whips have been scrambling to try to peel off as many of her critics on the backbenches as possible.

While the PM has been travelling the breadth of the UK to try to appeal to the public over the heads of her warring MPs.

But amid signs she is failing to convince MPs, whips are trying to turn the screw by warning that if the deal is voted down on December 11 then Parliament could be recalled.

One MP told the i newspaper: 'There has been talk of Parliament being recalled before the New Year.

'The message is vote for the deal or you might not see your families for much of the holidays.'

Another backbencher told the newspaper: 'People are being told they would be letting down the voters and jeopardising Theresa May's future. It amounts to emotional blackmail.'

Mrs May is facing a barrage of criticism from all sides after she unveiled her deal, with Brexiteers and Remainers both branding it a betrayal of the referendum vote.

Theresa May snubs call for Boris Johnson to be included in live TV Brexit debate

Theresa May today dismissed demands for Boris Johnson or Nicola Sturgeon to join the live TV Brexit debates.

The PM said that throwing the invite open to politicians across the political divide would see the same old referendum arguments re-run.

Instead, she is insisting it is a head to head showdown between her and Jeremy Corbyn so the two leaders have to explain their Brexit stance.

It comes after Number Ten has faced furious demands from Brexiteers for a 'true believer' like Mr Johnson to join the clash.

While other leading political parties including the SNP, Lib Dems, and the Greens have all demanded a spot to - and threatened legal action if they are snubbed.

But speaking to journalists on a plane on her way to Buenos Aires for the G20 summit, the PM said: 'This is not a debate about recreating the referendum debate of Leavers versus Remainers.'

While the DUP - whose 10 MPs are propping the Tories up in Downing Street - have also vowed to vote it down.

Stripped of her working majority and facing a wall of opposition from Labour, the SNP and Lib Dems, her deal is expected to be defeated when it is voted on on December 11.

And opposition o her backbenches is mounting despite Number Ten deploying Cabinet Eurosceptic Liam Fox to dfeend the deal.

The International Trade Secretary today urged Conservatives to do their 'duty' and back the plan - insisting the premier's gruelling PR drive is 'changing the public mood'.

The Tories who have declared against include some 30 former ministers, and Remainers are also preparing to help vote the package down.

Jo Johnson who resigned from the cabinet over his objection to the deal with Brussels, said the Tories could face a 'landslide' loss at the next election if the deal was to go through.

Meanwhile, Mrs May has flown to Argentina to the G20 summit to convince world leaders her deal can work.

Last night, Tories and Labour MPs got together to table an amendment to get rid of Mrs May's deal, stop a no-deal Brexit and give MPs a choice in what follows.

Iain Duncan Smith said to The Telegraph: 'When this many people tell you that you're going down the wrong road, which will be damaging to the UK, it doesn't matter who you are. You must stop, you must listen, and not just lecture.

'This whole plan to go round the country to try and put pressure on MPs isn't working.

'I do not want a conservative prime minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to face a defeat which could have been avoided. The consequences of that defeat could also be personally damaging for her, which I do not want.

'It is time to think again.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
