«Breaking News» Kurt Busch's ex-girlfriend is found guilty of stealing money from veterans charity she worked for

The ex-girlfriend of NASCAR driver Kurt Busch has been found guilty of stealing $900,000 from the veterans charity she worked for.

Patricia Driscoll, 40, was convicted on Thursday by a federal jury in Washington DC of wire fraud, tax evasion and first degree fraud. She now faces a maximum prison sentence of 35 years.

Driscoll, who famously accused Busch of domestic assault in 2014, was the director of the Armed Forces Foundation. She worked for the charity for 12 years but resigned indignantly in 2015 when it claimed in a tax filing to have found proof that she had been misappropriating funds.

According to the charity's records, Driscoll had squirreled $900,000 away between 2002 and 2015.

She also defrauded donors and lied to the IRS about the organization's books, they said.

She was arrested in 2016 on fraud charges and was found guilty on Thursday.

Driscoll, a mother-of-one who Busch thought was a 'trained assassin', denies any wrongdoing.

Her attorney vowed to appeal the verdict on Thursday, telling The San Diego Tribune: 'The jury did not get it right — Patricia Driscoll is innocent.

'We are very disappointed by the verdict and the government’s misconduct in this case. We will appeal.

'This is not the final chapter to this story.'

The charity was founded in 2001 to help promote mental and physical health among veterans.

In the years Driscoll worked for it, it reported $44millon in revenues. It was a fixture on the NASCAR racing circuit, and Busch formerly served as a 'celebrity ambassador' for the group.

According to the charity's records, Driscoll spent the money on shopping sprees, jewelry for herself and trips to the dermatologist.

She also spent $65,000 on lawyers when she accused Busch of domestic violence in 2014.

At the time, she said he choked her and slammed her against a wall at his motor home on a race track after she went over to check on him because he had sent her worrying text messages which suggested he was depressed.

Busch denied her allegations and offered up a series of outlandish explanations for the altercation.

He claimed that he was naked and having a 'spiritual experience' after watching Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet.

He told a judge that he did not attack Driscoll, as she claimed, and that he only ever 'cupped' her face.

One of his reasons for not attacking her, he said, was that she would win a fight because she was a 'trained assassin'.

He said she 'could take me down at any moment, because she is a bada**'.

He also claimed that she told him a character in the film Zero Dark Thirty was based on her.

Busch and Driscoll (in April 2014) split that year after he allegedly strangled her and slammed her against a wall. She said he was an abusive alcoholic. He said he was having a 'spiritual experience' after watching the film Seven Years in Tibet nude at home. A judge ordered him to stay from her

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
