A small corporate jet crashed in Indiana on Friday just four minutes after it took off, killing everyone on board.
Newly re-appointed Ball State University trustee R. Wayne Estopinal, 63, has been confirmed as one of the three people, including the pilot, who died in the crash in the city of Borden.
An architect and soccer lover who founded the MLS team for Orlando City, Florida, Estopinal was a valued, engaged member of his community who will be greatly missed.
'Wayne Estopinal was a strong, innovative business leader known for dynamic building design and his tremendous vision that helped to bring professional soccer to Louisville, and by helping it succeed. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing,' Louisville, Kentucky Mayor Greg Fischer said.
The identity of the pilot and the third person on board the Cessna Citation C525 have not been confirmed at this time, ABC reported.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.

The plane carrying Estopinal and another passenger took off from Clark County Airport in Sellersburg, Indiana at 11:24am Eastern, police said.
By 11.28am, police had received reports over dispatch of the downed aircraft in a wooded area on Crone Road, between Maisly Lane and Cummins Road.
A few large pieces of the plane remained in tact amid the tiny pieces of debris tat littered the ground in the area, Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel said.

Sources have said Estopinal was heading to a conference in Chicago.
Estopinal was just re-appointed to a trustee position on the board of Ball State University on Tuesday, according to Ball State's Daily News.

Informing the school of the passing of the 1979 graduate of its College of Architecture and Planning, Rick Hall, Chair of Ball State University Board of Trustees, and Ball State president Geoffrey Mearns said of Estopinal:
'He was an exceptional leader and passionate supporter of the University. As we mourn this loss to our Ball State family, we ask that you keep Wayne’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. As we learn additional information, we will communicate that to you.'
Estopinal was the CEO of TEG Architects and founded the Major League Soccer team for Orlando City, Florida.
'The Orlando City SC organization would like to express its deepest sympathies for Founding Owner Wayne Estopinal, his family, the fellow passengers and everyone else who was impacted by today’s tragic plane accident in Indiana,' the team said in a statement.
'Wayne was one of the first to believe in our Club and the dream to bring Major League Soccer to Orlando. While serving on our Board of Directors, he continued his legacy by building Louisville City FC into one of the most dominant franchises in the United Soccer League. He will be deeply missed, but his impact on the Orlando City organization and American soccer will be felt for years to come.'
Estopinal was also once the face of Louisville City FC's ownership group, an organization he had belonged to from its very beginning.

'We at LouCity are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of club founder Wayne Estopinal,' President Brad Estes told ABC 11.
'We would not be the club we are today without his innovation, leadership, and hard work, and his contributions to the community are something for which we are incredibly grateful. Our hearts are with Wayne’s family and loved ones at this time.'
LouCity principal owner John Neace said: 'Greater Louisville lost a great corporate citizen today. Wayne was very active in the soccer community and will be missed by us all. We mourn this inexpressible loss and today acknowledge his contribution to Louisville City FC and the entire Louisville soccer community.'
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, with weather unlikely to have been a factor.
There was no rain in the area, with conditions including light winds and low clouds, National Weather Service meteorologist Ryan Sharp said.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
