A PhD student at the University of Oxford was told to leave a women's rights talk because she had taken her toddler along.

Ania Kordala claims she emailed ahead and asked permission to take her daughter Pola along to a talk by Julia Gillard, former prime minister of Australia on 'Women and Leadership – Fighting for an equal world'.

Ms Kordala, who is studying for a DPhil at the university, claims that after taking her seat, she was approached and asked to leave, and told to leave her belongings behind.

Ms Kordala had taken her seat in the Sheldonian Theatre on the university campus when she was swiftly told to leave the premises.

Writing on Facebook, she said she and her daughter 'had lots of space' and were sitting quietly waiting for the speaker to arrive when Pola 'babbled'.

She added: 'The event begins. A few minutes in a lady from technical crew approaches me and says with a dead serious face: "You need to leave. You need to leave now.

"You are right next to the video camera man, you need to leave now."

Ms Kordala claims she offered to move to the other side of the room but was told to leave the theatre.

She said when she tried to take her bags, she was told a friend would have to bring them out for her.

She added: 'I hear the room filling with applause as Julia Gillard enters the stage and starts talking. About women in leadership. About equal rights and opportunities.

'Later on University of Oxford and Nuffield Department of Population Health will congratulate themselves on organizing such an event and being at the forefront of a fight for equality.

'The talk will be watched many times and probably also receive media coverage. But this is just one side of the story.

'The other side of the story is a student parent who wanted to be a part of the talk. Who literally fought her way into the building despite being told 'no'.

'Who made it inside and got kicked out almost immediately after. Who is outside the building when everybody else is inside.'

The University of Oxford have been contacted for comment.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
