A drunken man has been jailed after punching a police officer in the face while he was being arrested for something else.
The shocking footage captured on a body-worn police camera shows Edward Elsden-Smith, 22, carry out an assault against the officer who is attempting to arrest him on suspicion of criminal damage.
The thug violently lashes out, punching the officer in the face before being taken down to the ground and arrested.
Elsden-Smith has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison after admitting a string of offences.
He pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage and breaching a community order at Worthing Magistrates' Court on March 12.
He also admitted breaching a suspended prison sentence he was handed for head-butting another police officer and assaulting two more officers in Worthing, West Sussex, last May.
The court heard two police officers were on patrol in the same town on February 23 just before 11pm when they received a report of a drunk man acting aggressively.
They saw him kick at a parked car and break the wing mirror off.

He approached their marked police car and threatened them before they had even spoken to him.
As they went to arrest him for criminal damage, he began attacking the officers and punched one of them in the face.
The officers forehead was cut and the punch caused bruising and swelling to his eye and nose.
But Elsden-Smith was quickly restrained by the efficient coppers and taken into custody.
Detective Sergeant Kieran McDonald said: 'Elsden-Smith's behaviour and actions were outrageous and violent towards the officer who was trying to protect the public.
'Our officers and staff find themselves in a wide variety of often unpredictable and fast moving situations.

'We do not believe that any form of assault is acceptable and should never be viewed as part of the job.
'We don't tolerate violence against anyone in Sussex including our own officers and staff and are robust in pursuing the offenders and bringing them to justice.'
Elsden-Smith, of Worthing, West Sussex, has now been jailed for 18 weeks and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £85 costs.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
