A town in New Jersey is looking to put an end to excessive dog parking with new legislation carrying serious jail time.

The Saddle River council are looking to pass a new law stating that dog owners can not allow their beloved pets to bark, howl or yelp for more than 20 minutes between 7 am and 10 pm, or for 15 minutes from 10 pm on-wards.

Failure to comply with the new ruling could land residents of the town with hefty fines of $1,000 or even prison sentences of up to 90 days, the council's ordinance details.

90 days of community service is also listed as a possible punishment in the document.

Other towns in New Jersey have similar laws regarding noise-polluting pets, but the extreme consequences listed in Saddle River's has sent the phone of the borough's Administrator, Jerry Giaimis, into overdrive.

'By and large prohibit excessive barking for more than a specific period, I believe is 20 minutes at one time,' Giaimis said to CBS NY, describing what the process would entail.

'People would report to us, that there is an incident, and the police department would go out and determine if there is a summons that needs to be issued.'

Saddle River officials say that persistent barking causes a nuisance and unreasonable discomfort to anyone in the immediate vicinity.

A judge in each case would ultimately determine the severity of the penalty.

'I can say with 100 percent certainty that no one is going to jail over a barking dog,' Giaimis said, according to NJ.com.

Giaimis defended the law change, saying that the violations listed in the document are the same across other towns in the state, unless otherwise detailed.

He also added there isn't an 'epidemic' of dog barking in the area, insisting Saddle River gets less than many of the surrounding towns.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
