«Breaking News» Martha Stewart talks SHOES as she launches new Aerosoles collection

Martha Stewart has just launched her Spring 2019 footwear collection for Aerosoles.

But when it comes to buying shoes from this organizational DIY guru, it's important that espadrilles, sandals, and ballet flats don't just look good on your feet — they also need to look good in your closet.

The 77-year-old mogul spoke about her new shoe collection this week, and told DailyMail.com just how she likes to keep everything looking pretty and neat in her wardrobe.

Martha was named brand ambassador for the brand last year, starting with a limited collection of equestrian-inspired rain boots for Fall 2018.

Martha's top shoe organizing tips

  • Keep shoes in clear boxes

  • Label the boxes so you know what is inside

  • Stuff shoes with tissue paper to maintain their shape

  • Stand up boots with cardboard

  • Put together your own handy 'shoe care box'

But now, she's rolling out trendy d'orsay flats, comfy rubber-soled slip-ons, summery espadrilles, bow-bedecked ballet flats, and sexy wedges, all in a variety of colors and priced from $79 to $120.

'I'm thrilled to share our Spring collection with everyone. Our new styles are beautifully designed, affordable and most of all, comfortable,' the star said in a statement.

'I spend long days gardening, working at my office, attending meetings, going out to dinners and I am constantly on my feet. I need shoes that offer support and beautiful workmanship and design.

'That is why I created the Martha Stewart line of shoes for Aerosoles. They are shoes perfect for every occasion,' she said.

While most women don't need an excuse to buy new shoes, however, finding ways to store them in the closet so they look neat and are easily accessible can be tricky.

Unsurprisingly, Martha has a solution.

'I like to store my shoes in clear containers paired together and labeled so I can easily see and decide if I want to wear them,' she told DailyMail.com.

'It also helps to stuff shoes with tissue paper to preserve their shape.'

Those are clearly go-to tips for Martha, who's been recommending those tricks for years. In a video on her website, she suggests wiping the bottoms of dirty shoes down before returning them to their clear plastic containers.

'I always stuff the toes of my good shoes with some folded up paper or tissue. This keeps the toe nice and flat and it also keeps any moisture that might have accumulated in the toe from damaging the shoe,' she explains.

For boots, she folds up a piece of shirt cardboard and stuffs it inside the ankle and calf area to keep them stiff and upright.

She adds: 'Once a year, I condition the shoes with a nice silicone liquid and I do the soles to just to make sure that they're extra water-tight and extra long-lived.'

The star also keeps a 'shoe care box' on hand, stored alongside all of her footwear. In it is every type of polish she needs, a polish applicator, and a buffing brush.

Martha's been able to change and upgrade her closet over the years, and recently transformed a whole room into the 'ultimate walk-in closet,' which she showed off in Martha Stewart Living.

In the fall of 2017, she converted a small unused bedroom in her Bedford, New York home into a place to keep her clothes and accessories.

In there, her shoes are standing up along several shelves, and are organized by style. She has multiple pairs of her favorite styles in different colors, particularly Manolo Blahniks.

She also chose shelves that are just over an inch thick, compared to the 'standard' three-quarter inches, which gives the closet a 'solid, more bespoke feel.'

But even women who can't have a bespoke closet modeled at home can still get the look.

'For artful storage of your shoes, line a wall with molding (sold at home improvement centers),' she told DailyMail.com. 'Have pre-primed pieces cut to length and paint as desired.

'Attach to the wall with construction adhesive. Hammer finishing nails every 18 inches, countersink nails, spackle, and touch up with paint.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
