«Breaking News» John Bolton says American-born 'ISIS bride' seeking return to U.S. has to show citizenship EVIDENCE

White House national security adviser John Bolton has said that New Jersey-born 'ISIS bride' Hoda Muthana needs to prove her citizenship if she is to return to the US.

His comments come after President Trump said on Twitter that he and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo agree that she shouldn't be allowed to return.

The 24-year-old from Hackensack left to join ISIS in November 2014, using funds her parents had provided for her college tuition.

She traveled to Syria on an American passport and married a succession of ISIS fighters.

She allegedly posted a series of tweets encouraging attacks on the west and she now says she wants to return with her 18-month-old son.

Muthana, who grew up in Alabama, said she regrets her actions and that the tweets were sent from someone using her account.

The family of Muthana filed suit last week against the Trump administration after the government said she wasn't a citizen.

She was born in New Jersey in 1994, where her father - a Yemeni - was on diplomatic duty.

In conversation with Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation on CBS News, Bolton said: 'My understanding is that she is not a U.S. citizen. That's the take of the State Department at this point.'

He added that 'Americans can renounce their citizenship by their words and by their actions aligning with foreign powers' when Brennan faced him with the fact that Muthana was issued with a US passport.

He also said that if Muthana can present evidence of her citizenship 'we will take a look at it'.

Brennan posed him with the question of where Muthana should face trial, to which he responded that 'it's a possibility' that she could be hauled before US courts.

Speaking more broadly about ISIS elopers in Syria and other countries outside the US, Bolton said that the government is working with European allies on the matter.

He said: 'We're not eager to have simply pick up that responsibility we think others have the responsibility too, and that's the approach we're taking.

Donald Trump tweeted last Wednesday: 'I have instructed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and he fully agrees, not to allow Hoda Muthana back into the Country!'

He previously called for European countries to take back their fighters but his position on Muthana is clear.

Her family are continuing to fight to get her back into the US.

The case mirrors an ongoing on in the UK where another ISIS bride, also in the al-Hawl camp, is fighting to return home.

Shamima Begum joined ISIS when she was 15 and is currently in a highly publicized to and fro with UK authorities over whether she can return home.

The UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid said she's not a citizen and that she has Bangladeshi citizenship through her mother.

Bangladesh don't want to take the now 19-year-old but she can't be left stateless under UK law so her fate is unclear.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
