Mohammed Casim Hussain struck down and almost killed 14-year-old Ibrahim Ahmed while being chased by police in Luton on March 14, 2018
This is the horrifying moment a teenage boy somersaulted four times in the air after being struck by a driver speeding at nearly 60mph in a residential street.
Seconds later CCTV cameras also caught police officers frantically performing CPR on Ibrahim Ahmed, 14, has he lay stricken in the road.
Miraculously the youngster survived but was left with life-changing injuries.
The shocking video was released by police after the Mohammed Casim Hussain, 20, has been jailed for 16 months for being behind the wheel of the car.
Hussain was evading police at the time of the incident and travelling at speeds of nearly 60mph - well in excess of the 20mph limit in the middle of the carriageway.
An armed police unit had become suspicious of the silver Volkswagen Golf and tried to stop it.
Officers ended their pursuit of the vehicle in Luton, Bedfordshire, and immediately called an ambulance and began giving first aid to the teenager at around 4..00pm on March 14 last year.
This is teh moment Mohammed Casim Hussain's VW Golf was about to strike teenager Ibrahim Ahmed as he crossed the road in Luton in March 2018
The teenager was thrown onto the bonnet, up across the windscreen and into the air
Ibrahim was turned upside down by the force of the impact with his legs in the air
Police stopped at the scene and gave emergency medical assistance to Ibrahim until paramedics arrived to take him to hospital
The young teenager was taken to hospital with extremely serious injuries including multiple broken bones, organ damage and internal bleeding.
Hussain, from Southampton, Hampshire, who abandoned his vehicle moments after the collision, was captured on CCTV discarding his jumper in a nearby school.
The driver then convinced a family member to contact police and report his vehicle as stolen.
At Luton Crown Court yesterday, Hussain was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Sergeant James Thorne, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: 'Instead of pulling over in a safe and responsible way, Hussain decided to flee and drove in a dangerous manner that placed numerous people at risk of serious harm.
'His actions ultimately led to a 14-year-old boy being struck at high speed and left for dead.
He then slammed nto the roof of the VW Golf as the car continued to speed along the road
Police said Hussain was driving in an unsafe manner and left Ibrahim for dead
'The pursuing officers did the right thing and stopped - without doubt, their medical intervention saved the life of this young boy.
'While Hussain continued to try and avoid capture, a thorough and professional investigation led to his arrest, conviction and sentencing we have seen today.
'Throughout all of this, I would like to reiterate my praise and admiration for the bravery of the victim.
'His life changed that day, and he continues to have a positive outlook on life and strives for a full recovery.'
Hussain was being chased by police at the time of the accident on March 14, 2018
An Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which launched an independent investigation into the incident, concluded that the pursuit was authorised and conducted correctly and that neither officer had acted in a manner that would require any further action.
The 14-year-old boy also received vital first aid from officers, which may have saved his life and assisted his subsequent recovery.
The IOPC examined CCTV footage taken from a number of sources along the route of the pursuit, obtained detailed statements from officers, examined their training records, analysed in-car data and downloaded police radio recordings.
IOPC Regional Director, Sarah Green, said: 'The injuries to the teenager in this hit and run could have been life-changing and I am delighted that he has made significant progress in recovering from this ordeal.
'The evidence gathered from our investigation indicates this may have been helped by the work of the two officers who administered first aid at the scene and for this they should be commended.'
The two officers in a patrol car initially noticed the occupants of the silver VW Golf seemed to be behaving nervously and decided to carry out a stop.
He continued driving his car despite the extensive damage caused by hitting the teenager
Hussain eventually abandoned his car and he ran from the scene along with his passengers
They followed the car to Leagrave Road, Luton, where they activated lights and the siren.
The police car followed the Golf where it then sped up to almost 20mph over the speed limit.
Police began an authorised pursuit and the Golf mounted the kerb to undertake stationary traffic.
The police car undertook the same manoeuvre and continued the pursuit just moments before the Golf collided with the teenager.
The Golf continued to speed down the road but officers halted their pursuit, called for an ambulance and administered first aid until the paramedics arrived and took over.
The teenager was taken to hospital with extremely serious injuries.
A mandatory referral was made by Bedfordshire Police and an independent investigation was concluded in December 2018.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
