«Breaking News» Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth's Australian beach road trip

They swapped the bright lights of Hollywood for a more relaxed life in Byron Bay, on Australia's east coast, five years ago.

And the Hemsworth family shared a glimpse of their idyllic lifestyle on Tuesday, as they embarked on a fun-filled coastal road trip.

Chris, 35, shared several beachside photos to Instagram on Tuesday featuring his  wife Elsa Pataky, 42, their three children, and a group of friends

The Thor star captioned the holiday snaps: 'Another incredible trip along Australia's coastline. Great friends, great weather, nothin' better!' 

Elsa, who is known for her role in the Fast and Furious movies, also shared some photos of her own from the getaway.

'Another fun trip with the best people and bunch of kids having the best time. Beach times,' she captioned the gallery.

The holiday, which was organised for one of Chris' friend's 40th birthday, was packed with outdoor activities and wholesome family fun.

The men in the group even held a surf competition.

Several of the holiday photos feature Chris and Elsa's long-haired twin boys, four-year-old Tristan and Sasha, as well as their six-year-old daughter India. 

Bohemian chic! The 42-year-old mother-of-three (centre) exuded her trademark bohemian style in loose tops, an Akubra-style hat and a collection of necklaces she hung around her neck

Surf comp! At one point, Elsa captured an impromptu surfing competition, writing over Instagram: 'Boys having a surf comp!'

The Hollywood couple have been married for nine years, and have called Byron Bay home since 2014. 

Elsa, who previously lived in LA for years, has previously said she enjoys the more laid-back lifestyle of Australia.

'We did the move three years ago and I'm so happy with it,' she said in April 2017.

'In Byron we just feel like locals. People really respect us... and it's what I always dreamed of giving to my kids.'  

Good support: The Spanish beauty followed it up with a snap of her and the women on the trip, calling the fun-loving group 'The Cheerleaders'

Beach to themselves: In the photos, dozens of surfboards can be seen scattering the beach next to a line-up of four-wheel-drive cars and supplies for the families

Kids party: The Hemsworth kids were joined by other young children who took to the beach with typical childlike abandon, and at one point danced on top of the car roofs 

From Hollywood to the beach: It's easy to forget the Hollywood heavyweights star in blockbusters as the pair looked relaxed and carefree during their family-friendly trip

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
