Andrew Dixon is accused of the attempted murder of his wife
A loving wife who was allegedly brutally attacked by her husband with an iron bar poignantly says in a harrowing police video: 'He's a good person.'
Aimee Dixon speaks warmly of her husband in the upsetting video and says: 'Normally, he's a good person. He's good.'
Her speech can barely be understood because of the catastrophic head and brain injuries she suffered when her husband allegedly attacked her after getting very angry during an argument.
Andrew Dixon, 35, of Cleethorpes, is accused of attempting to murder his wife on November 18.
He was due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court but he has been ruled unfit to enter a plea and to give instructions to his defence team because of a mental disorder.
A jury is instead being asked to decide whether he caused the injuries to his wife - not whether he attempted to kill her.
His 37-year-old wife was interviewed on March 8 in the neuro-rehabilitation centre where she was being looked after.
Asked by Humberside Police officers whether she could remember her paranoid schizophrenic husband hitting her, she replied: 'No.'
She said that he had not taken his medication and had lied to her about taking it.
He was supposed to take it 'every night' but she said: 'He didn't take it. He didn't like it.'
Her husband 'changed' when he did not take his medication and was 'different'.
She said: 'Normally, he's a good person. He's good.'

Her husband drank alcohol when he was not supposed to because of his medication.
'He used to drink beer,' she said, adding this was 'every day' and it was 'to stop the medication working'.
She said: 'The alcohol stopped it working. He doesn't like it.
'I thought we got on okay when he took his medication. He was okay. I wouldn't hurt him.'
Mrs Dixon was asked by police: 'Did you think he would ever hurt you?'
She replied: 'No. He had never been violent. I had never hurt him. He was good before. He's a good person. I knew he wasn't very well.'
I tried to help him but I couldn't. He's got bad recently.'
They had lived at their home in Cleethorpes for nine years, with her setting off for her job in Leeds , for about nine years.
She worked in Leeds, setting off in her car at 6.30am and not returning home until about 7pm.
But her husband did not like her working in Leeds because she was 'busy' and he thought she was spending time with the bosses.
He worked on two jobs at the weekends, cleaning toilets in Market Rasen, and she drove him there.
'At weekends, I took him,' she said.
They sometimes had a problem with money because she paid all the bills, the mortgage and for the food.
She was 'not really' happy about her paying all the bills and said she did not know what he paid for.
The case continues.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
