A two-year-old girl is fighting for her life in a Tennessee hospital after she was shot in the head by a stray bullet as she played in her backyard.
Ariel Salaices was struck as she played with her brothers, 12 and 5, on a slide at their home in Mountain City, Tennessee, on March 14.
The toddler has remained in a critical condition and on life-support ever-since in the East Tennessee Children's hospital, in Knoxville.
Police say they're still searching for the person who fired the wayward shot, which bounced off a metal pole in the garden and struck little Ariel in the back of the head.

According to her Aunt, Stephanie Brown, Ariel tried to run to her father after she was hit but collapsed near the back-door steps.
One of her brothers cried out desperately for their dad to come and help.
'If it weren’t for him and my husband, she probably wouldn’t have had a chance,' Ariel’s mom, Christina, told ABC News. 'She fell off the playground set, walked to the stairs and then collapsed in front of them.'
Ariel's dad picked her up and drove her to the near-by Johnson County emergency medical services unit, where she was later transferred to the children's hospital for specialist care.

In the last week, Ariel has undergone a series of life-saving surgeries, including a procedure to remove part of her skull to reduce swelling on her brain.
According to Brown, the bullet severed an artery in Ariel's brain, causing her to have a stroke.
'My emotions are everywhere,' said Ariel's grandfather Michael Sawyer to KATV. 'At one point I'll be really sad, then I'll get really angry but I know that's not gonna change the outcome. It's just hard.'
Ariel's mother and father have been holding regular hospital bed-side vigils for their daughter and have left work to be by her side around the clock.
The family say her medical treatment is paid for, but they've set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover travel, food and personal expenses while they're out of work.
As of Friday morning, the page had raised more than $15,800 in just four days.

Ariel's family have urged the shooter to come forward to help provide more clarity on exactly what happened
According to Ariel's aunt Stephanie, her brain activity is limited but is showing signs of slow improvement
In an update on the page on Tuesday, Brown said that currently the right side of the toddler's brain - which was hit by the bullet - currently shows little to no activity, with the left side showing some.
'They gave her medication to try to increase the left side and try to improve her rights of survival.
'As of now anything that happens is really up to her. We appreciate each and every one of your donations, anything that you did whether it was small or big.
'Ariel is a very spunky little girl. She's sassy and she's full of life,' Brown said. 'She has already proved she's so strong and we have many plans for that little girl.'
She later added that her brain activity is improving though and Ariel's blood-pressure inside of her head is slowly subsiding.
The family are now urging the shooter to come forward.
'I just have to say that even if it was an accident, I know they have to know what happened. It's been all over the news. They really need to come forward,' Brown told ABC.
The family do live near a shooting range, but police say they don't believe the bullet came from there.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
