The Brooks County Sheriff's Office in Texas is accused of posting an old video showing at least 20 migrants running from police in an effort to entice people to join the force.
The incident is believed to have occurred in 2016 in the city of Encino, approximately 70 miles north of the border with Mexico, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Footage from Sheriff’s office deputies' dash cam was shared on the Brooks County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page on Friday, with no date listed, showing men and at least one woman streaming out of a pickup truck and running from authorities.
DailyMail.com left a message seeking comment from the sheriff's office and is awaiting a reply.

The video the office is accused of posting to generate interest in the positions starts with a white Ford pickup pulled over on the side of the road with its hazard lights on.
A Brooks County Sheriff’s Office deputy was in the process of attempting to pull over the vehicle because a records check on its license plates revealed that the truck had been reported stolen, according to authorities.
The passenger side door opens a bit, then slams shut and the truck takes off.

It's not known at this time how many of the migrants were taken into custody, or exactly when the incident occurred, near Encino on US Highway 281.

Encino is not a border town, but is a through-way for cartel-connected human smugglers and drug traffickers on their way north.
To get further in to Texas, smugglers must get migrants past a US Border Patrol checkpoint located just south of the town of Falfurrias.
To avoid this checkpoint, smugglers will often take migrants through treacherous surrounding terrain, having them march for days in extreme heat, often topping 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
'It's harsh terrain,' reserve deputy Elas Pompa told NBC in 2014.
'I walk an hour and am out of breath...If you don't have a compass or guide, you're not gonna get out.'
The difficult route has been dubbed 'Death Valley' for migrants, willing to risk it all for the chance at a better life or the opportunity to earn money in the US to send home to family members.
In 2018, authorities found the remains of 50 migrants throughout the ranches of Brooks County.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
