«Breaking News» How the tube that comes with a child's Nurofen is helping mums remove splinters and bee stings

If your child has ever suffered with a splinter, a shard of glass in their finger or a bee sting, you'll know that it can be as fiddly for you to get it out as it is painful for them to endure.

But now, one mother has shared a genius 'first aid hack' she came across online using the tube that comes with Nurofen Kids' pain relief.

Writing on Facebook, the woman revealed how the suction in the tube can help to remove 'splinters, tiny shards of glass and bee sting venom in a quick, non-invasive, painless way'.

'Turns out they are MAGIC,' the woman wrote in a parenting Facebook group.

'If you have ever bought Nurofen for kids before you would know it comes with this little thing to measure/administer the liquid (gold) medicine,' she began.

'After reading this post you will be stuffing one into your First Aid kit.'

She explained you should place the outer tube hole on the wound and press firmly, then pull the inside orange tube out to extract the offending item (stock image)

So how does the tube work for removing bites, stings, glass and splinters?

'Simply place the outer tube hole over the wound site, press firmly against the skin, then pull the inside orange tube out really quickly,' she said.

'Such a great idea. Kids panic if you go near them with needles and tweezers to get those things out,' one person said (pictured: Nurofen for children)

'The vacuum in the tube should extract the offending item.'

The post has resonated hugely with other parents online, where it quickly racked up an impressive 11,000 likes and some 9,000 comments.

'Great for blackheads too,' another adult who had tried the trick added.

While most were keen to give the trick a try, not all parents were convinced it would work with their children.

'I'd struggle to get near them when they have a sting or splinter,' one person wrote.

Others shared their own tips for getting rid of splinters and bee stings.

'To remove a splinter: Apply a paste of baking soda and water, cover with a bandage and in 15 minutes the splinter should have worked its way out.

'For bee stings: Alcohol or vinegar will help to neutralise the pain'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
