«Breaking News» Father-of-two gets phone alert and sees burglars smashing into his home on doorbell camera

This is the moment a gang of burglars were caught on a covert doorbell camera trying to smash their way into a father-of-two's home while his daughter and elderly mother were inside.

Shocked Manmeet Singh got a notification on his phone that there was someone outside his family home.

He then watched on in horror as he saw the footage on his mobile of one of the raiders using a crowbar to force open his front door.

Frantic Mr Singh, 42, called his elderly mother - who was at home with his daughter - and dialled 999 before dashing home.

His elderly mother and his eight-year-old daughter ran into the garden and were forced to hide in their shed as the gang of three men ransacked their home and fled with jewellery.

Suspicious Mr Singh had called a firm to hire a cleaner to come to his five-bed family home just hours earlier and fears it could be linked.

He said its second time that has happened in a year-and-a-half and their fifth burglary in four years prompting him to spend thousands of pounds on seven CCTV cameras.

Accountant Mr Singh got notifications on his mobile at 8.20pm last Friday from the doorbell camera that someone was outside his home in Bexleyheath, south London.

Reliving the ordeal, he said: 'The offenders could not break the lock.

'So they broke the door.

'My mother grabbed my daughter and went into the garden and ran to the shed.

'I think they thought someone was in there because they were looking around the rooms before ransacking the house.

'I got back and was worried they got my mother and daughter.'

He said officers arrived within minutes but claims they told him they were not able to apprehend the suspects as they fled.

He claims he was told the officer driving the police car was only trained at stopping vehicles not pursuing them.

Mr Singh also claims the officers then asked him if he got the registration plate for their getaway car even though they saw it.

He said he beeped his horn and the gang came out as cops arrived.

'While they were crossing the road, the police came,' he added.

'They started running.

'Within a few minutes, they said they had got away. It's incredible

'I said 'Why would you not catch them?'

'They said the guy driving is not trained to pursue, only to stop.

'They asked if I got the reg, I saw are you having a laugh.

'It's unbelievable.

'My daughter was really shaken.

'It's horrific.

'I've made a complaint to police.'

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: 'Police were called at 8.22pm on Friday, March 1 to a residential address in Belvedere Road, Bexleyheath following reports of a burglary in process.

'The owner of the property alerted police after noticing a group of males entering the premises via a smart camera.

'They stole a quantity of jewellery before fleeing in a BMW.

'Officers attended as the car made off. A pursuit was initiated but the vehicle was lost.

'There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
