Country Life magazine has featured its first disabled woman since launching in 1897.
The British weekly's page Girls in Pearls is famed for profiling royals, socialites and models, and has included the likes of Lady Helen Windsor and Jodie Kidd in previous issues.
Heralded as the most famous page in publishing with the world's most aspirational women filling its glossy pages, this week it features an inspirational young woman who was confined to a wheelchair at just 22.
Sophie Elwes, 30, from London, was paralysed from the chest down following a horrific 7-metre fall from a roof terrace in 2011.
At the time she had recently graduated with a degree in Sociology from the University of Leeds, and following time at Kings College Hospital in ICU and then Stoke Mandeville hospital to complete rehabilitation, Sophie was accepted to UCL Institute of Education to become a primary teacher.

Determined not to let her disability get in the way of her zest for life, Sophie soon developed a passion for skiing, and started racing at the IPCAS (International Paralympic Committee) US Nationals.
Sophie is now ranked 26th and 28th in the world in alpine skiing giant slalom and slalom respectively and is aiming to qualify for the Paralympic Games in Bejing in 2022.
Sophie is also the co-founder of blog Our Adaptive World, which shares stories of her travels with followers and shares advice for those in similar situations to her.
Additionally she will take part in the London Marathon next month, where she will be raising money for charity.

Posing on the coveted Girl in Pearls page in a floral red dress, Sophie's profile reads: 'Miss Sophie Elwes is the only daughter of Mrs Sarah Elwes of London SW1 and the late Mr Martin Elwes.

'The co-founder of Our Adaptive World - a blog that chronicles her travels and provides information for people with disabilities - Sophie is currently training for the London Marathon next month. She is competing in aid of Backup, a spinal-injury charity'.
Taking to Instagram to share her joy at being featured on the page, Sarah posted a picture of the cover, jokingly referring to the sticker on her wheelchair.
Girls in Pearls began its famous page by covering royals, profiling Princess Henry of Pless in June 1897 and Princess Pauline Duleep Singh in January 1911.
Princess Elizabeth first appeared in September 1943; Princess Anne in 1971, ‘on the occasion of her 21st birthday’.
More recently it appears to have broadened its criteria, including a portrait of reality star Millie Mackintosh.

Heralded as the most...
It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
