«Breaking News» Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro tweets sexually explicit video to slam carnival

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has attacked the country's nationwide carnival celebrations by posting a video of sexually explicit behavior allegedly filmed at a street party.

Bolsonaro tweeted the video showing a man urinating on another person's hair while standing on what appears to be the roof of a bus stop, claiming that this 'exposes the truth' of Brazil's Carnival.

Arguably most famous for the annual displays of the samba schools in Rio de Janeiro's Sambadrome, the Carnival of Brazil is held between the Friday afternoon before Ash Wednesday and Ash Wednesday at noon.

Locals and revelers from around the world descend on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and other cities in the South American nation to take in the street party and parade scene, which this year included protests and mockery of the far-right leader.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro posted the video on his Twitter account as a form of protest against the annual Carnival de Brazil festival

Bolsonaro posted the video, captioned: 'I don't feel comfortable showing it, but we have to expose the truth to the population so they are aware of their priorities. 

'This is what has many street block parties at the Brazilian carnival has turned into.'

By Wednesday morning, the tweet had garnered more than 39,000 comments and 47,000 likes.

Many Twitter users were quick to slam Bolsonaro, saying the behavior shown in the video - allegedly filmed in Sao Paulo - was of an isolated incident and did not represent Carnival as a whole. 

Bolsonaro, a conservative far-right populist nicknamed 'Tropical Trump', then bizarrely tweeted: 'what is a golden shower?'   

The President has been criticised at various street parties and parades across the country in recent days, with revelers booing when a giant Bolsonaro doll was carried down the street Monday in Olinda, a city in the northeastern state of Pernambuco,

At Carmelitas, one of Rio de Janeiro's most traditional street parties, revelers sang along to a samba song titled: 'Blue or pink, it's all the same.'

The Brazilian President expressed his dismay over the explicit Carnival of Brazil video that he posted in Portuguese on his Twitter account on Tuesday: 'I don't feel comfortable showing it, but we have to expose the truth to the population so they are aware of their priorities'

This was a reference to Bolsonaro's human rights minister, Damares Alves, who declared: 'It's a new era in Brazil, boys wear blue and girls wear pink,' soon after she took up her post.

'This parade is an act of resistance to the oppressive new government,' said Monica Machado, a percussion player in a band.

The song's lyrics went, 'On the train of history, we can't go in reverse,' a reference to the Brazilian president's open admiration of Brazil's 1964-1985 military dictatorship.

Bolsonaro has famously said he would rather have a dead son than a gay son and that police who kill criminals should be given medals not prison sentences.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
