«Breaking News» Baby, you've grown! What famous screen tots look like now

It was revealed this week that the twin babies who cooed and gurgled on screen in the nineties as baby Emma - daughter to Ross and Rachel on Friends - are now 16-years-old with adult acting careers.

Noelle and Cali Sheldon melted hearts as tots... but fast forward 15 years and the twins have landed starring roles in a horror movie.

Time flies for babies immortalised in our favourite sitcoms and films, with many chubby-cheeked tots now all grown up.

What's surprising are just how many twins or siblings were used to play the same part, with casting directors clearly preferring families that can offer a super-sub option for parts.

Here, Femail tracks down what happened to famous on-screen babies when the cameras stopped rolling and growth spurts kicked in.

THE HANGOVER FILMS

BABY CARLOS (GRANT HOLMQUIST)

Small but mighty! Grant  Holmquist starred alongside Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha in the Hangover films, spending most of the time on set strapped to Galifianakis's chest

Now 11, Grant Holmquist was once the tiniest member of 'the Wolfpack', taking turns with his twin sister Avery, and six other baby girls to play the sunglasses-wearing baby cared for by Alan (Zach Galifianakis) back in 2009.

Holmquist spent much of his time on set strapped to the chest of Galifianakis in the hit trilogy about three friends on a bachelor party in Las Vegas. The comedy also starred Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha.

The youngster hasn't been spotted in anything more recently, appearing to focus on his education rather than stardom for now.

SEX AND THE CITY

BRADY HOBBES (JOSEPH PUPO)

He was the flame-haired offspring of Miranda Hobbes and Steve Brady and despite the couple's ongoing drama over four series of the hit show, he often stole the show with his cherubic looks.

The audition took place when Joseph was three-months-old and starring in one of the biggest sitcoms largely passed Pupo by...he has no time of his early appearances. Growing up on screen, Pupo, his last appearance with Miranda, Samantha and al was in the 2010 Sex and the City movie.

Now 18, and still with a striking mop of red hair, the teenager has been busy graduating from high school, with no other major acting roles on record.

HONEY, I BLEW UP THE KID

ADAM SZALINSKI (DANIEL AND JOSHUA SHALIKER)

New Jersey twins Daniel and Joshua Shaliker both brought something to the role of Adam Szalanski, the poor mite who was accidentally amplified in size by crazy scientist Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis).

On screen, baby Adam is seen towering over his family after being zapped to 100ft tall by his father. The twins, cast after a search that saw more than 1000 children interviewed, would take it in turns to don the famous red dungarees, while the other slept.

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR

Child star Ross Bagley, now 30, became a household name playing Nicky Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

It wasn't his only movie appearance, he went on to play Dylan Dubrow-Hiller in Independence Day and also starred as Buckwheat in The Little Rascals (1994).

Now a father himself to a son, Reece, Bagley turned his attentions away from the big screen in spite of his early success and invested in property. He now lives in Los Angeles and owns his own real estate company.

In The One Where Ross Is Fine, at the height of the sitcom's fame in the late nineties, Phoebe Buffay gave birth to triplets as a surrogate mother for Alice Knight and Frank Buffay Jr, offering up on-screen cuteness in three ways.

One of the actors who played one of the bundles of joy was Allisyn Ashley Arm, who made the role the first of many, shooting to fame as a teen in playing Zora Lancaster in the Disney Channel hit show 'Sonny With A Chance'.

Currently being seen in the US as Heather in A.P. Bio, Phoebe's comedy co-star is now 22 years old.

Toby Froud wore a red striped baby-gro to enter into movie folklore, starring alongside David Bowie's Jareth the Goblin King in the 1986 film Labyrinth.

His dad, working as a conceptual designer on the film, got him the gig playing baby Toby Williams, the character of Sarah's little brother.

Now living in Portland, Oregon, Froud clearly had his imagination fired by his stint in front of the camera - and has been busy creating puppets for use of screen since.

Of working with Bowie, Froud, now 35, more recently told Vice magazine: 'That was my one regret, that I never got to meet him later in life, because I was a huge fan and grew up with his music.'

COLD FEET

BABY MATTHEW (JACOB HUGHES)

Wasn't he lovely? Jacob Hughes played baby Matthew, son of Adam Williams (James Nesbitt) and Rachel Bradley (Helen Baxendale) in the hit series Cold Feet. He featured in the key funeral scene during the show's final series, starring with actors Nesbitt and Faye Ripley following the death of Rachel in a car crash

Jacob Hughes, from Lancashire was just eight months old when he was chosen to play gorgeous brown-eyed baby Matthew in the first incarnation of hit UK series Cold Feet.

Jacob's mum Michelle was taken aback when an assistant director from the show called her in 2002 to ask if Jacob would be willing to star in the show, and particularly in the most important scene of the programme's successful five-year run, when key character Rachel Bradley (played by Helen Baxendale) was killed in a car crash.

Michelle told Femail: 'Jacob was really good on set and was a baby who was comfortable being held by others.

'The only time he babbled all the way through filming was in the funeral scene ironically, and they had to edit his "noise" from this scene.'

Now nearly 18, Jacob has turned away from the world of acting and is a talented runner, competing in triathlons.

Aubrey Anderson-Emmons took over the role as Cam and Mitch’s daughter in Season three of the hit series. The dark-haired toddler ran rings around her doting fathers.

In real-life, it's hard to believe just how quick Anderson-Emmons has grown up. Now 11, the actress has 186,000 followers on her Instagram account and while still acting, also teams up with her mother to post cooking videos on the family YouTube channel.

Four different babies actually played little Mikey and Jacob Haines, from Mobile, Alabama, was the oldest.

Now a father-of-three and around 31-years-old, Jacob has stayed in entertainment, working as an entertainer at Walt Disney World in Florida after training as a singer and dancer.

EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND

GEOFFREY AND MICHAEL BARONE (SAWYER AND SULLIVAN SWEETEN)

Appearing in 139 episodes of the popular US sitcom, Sawyer and Sullivan Sweeten were adorable blonde-haired twins who quickly shot to fame as Geoffrey and Michael.

However, their early stardom reached a tragic end when, in 2015, Sawyer Sweeten, then 19, killed himself while visiting a family member's home in Texas.

The show's biggest star, Ray Romano, worked with the twins who started on the show from when they were just 16 months' old and described Sawyer as 'a wonderful and sweet kid to be around.'

The twins, had smaller, cameo moments in the beginning in the show, being too young to speak. The series developed a loyal following in the US, and was shown by Channel 4 in the UK.

Sawyer and his brother hadn't acted since the show finished in 2005.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
