«Breaking News» Ted Baker founder Ray Kelvin QUITS following harassment allegations

Ted Baker boss Ray Kelvin sensationally resigned today following allegations of harassment including unwanted cuddles and asking young female workers to sit on his knee and let him massage their ears.

The fashion brand's founder and chief executive, 63, who famously refuses to be photographed without his face covered, has been accused of enforcing a 'hugging' culture at the company.

North Londoner Mr Kelvin, started working in his uncle's Enfield menswear shop aged 11 and founded the Ted Baker brand in 1988, when he opened a shop specialising in men's shirts in Glasgow turning it into one of Britain's top brands.

But last year he took a leave of absence when the company was forced to launch an independent investigation into his alleged behaviour following a petition from staff.

In the document Mr Kelvin was also accused stroking people's necks and making sexual innuendos and today he quit saying: 'It is the right thing to step away'.

Mr Kelvin said: 'Difficult though this decision is given that Ted Baker has been my life and soul for over 30 years, I've decided that the right thing to do is to step away from Ted and allow the business to focus on being the outstanding brand it is so it can face 2019 with fresh energy and renewed spirit.

'As a shareholder in the business I'll support Lindsay in his leadership and be available to him and the team wherever I can offer helpful advice.

'I'm extremely proud of what we've achieved in building Ted Baker to the global brand it is today. Thank you to every single colleague, customer, supplier, and investor for your commitment to the business. We couldn't have done it without you and I'm so grateful.

'The past few months have been deeply distressing and I'll now be taking time privately with my family to consider what my next adventure will be. Bye for now, Ray.'

Before he quit Mr Kelvin said in a statement that the accusations had 'raised some very serious and upsetting issues'.

'Ted Baker has been my life and soul for 30 years,' he said. I love this company and I care deeply for all my colleagues. It's for that reason that I have decided to take a temporary leave of absence.'

The company said it had been made aware of 'further serious allegations' concerning Mr Kelvin's conduct.

Chief operating officer Lindsay Page has been appointed interim CEO.

The news comes after video emerged showing the fashion CEO embracing former Exeter City star Jamie Cureton in a toe-curling post match interview.

The fashion group's founder interrupts the striker several times and at one point asks the footballer: 'Can you please put your hand away from my bottom? Keep them round the front because we know what you're like.'

At one point Mr Kelvin, who in is trademark style covers his face with his jacket, kisses Mr Cureton on the cheek as he hugs him.

It is unclear exactly why Mr Kelvin appears in the clip, which was uploaded to YouTube in 2013.

But he was said to be close friends with Exeter City's then manager Paul Tisdale, who became known for his eye-catching Ted Baker outfits he wore on the touchline.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
