A famous female tank commander fighting for pro-Vladimir Putin rebels has defected to Ukraine after being recruited in a 'honeytrap', it is claimed.
Svetlana Dryuk, 40, says she has handed Kiev a Russian battle plan that details a 'full-scale invasion' of Ukraine with 100,000 troops that the Kremlin believes would sweep into the country in just four hours.
She is also credited with providing her Ukrainian spy lover with information which led to the destruction of eight modern Russian T-72 tanks during the bloody conflict.
Svetlana Dryuk, 40, was a famous tank commander fighting for pro-Putin rebels in eastern Ukraine but has now defected
Dryuk, who is now living in Kiev with her daughter Natalya (left) and son Dmitro, says she has handed over Russian battle plans for an invasion of Ukraine
Dryuk (pictured with Natalya and Dmitro) says she decided to switch sides after falling in love with a Ukrainian spy
Her reported defection is a blow to the Kremlin since a propaganda film on her rise from paramedic to tank commander and rebel regimental supremo is due to be aired in May in Russia and pro-Moscow eastern Ukraine.
Meanwhile Dryuk, the heroine who inspired the movie's main character, whose is living in Kiev with her daughter Natalya, 19, and teenage son Dmitro.
Dryuk, whose nickname on the battlefield was Veterok, appeared on Ukrainian channel 1+1 saying her 'love' for the Ukrainian intelligence officer changed her life.
'I have a very special friend now,' she said. He is 'much more important for me' than her previous loyalty to pro-Moscow rebels in her eastern Ukrainian homeland.
The Ukrainian spy's identity was not divulged.
Dryuk was a 'legendary commander of a female tank crew' and a 'symbol of Novorossiya' (eastern Ukraine), said the Kiev channel.
Dryuk claims the battle plans detail how Russia would sneak 100,000 troops into the country using fake passports within four hours
News of Dryuk's defection will be a major blow to Russia, which was poised to release a propaganda film about her life in May
Dryuk also claims she provided Ukrainian forces with information that led to the destruction of eight Russian T-72 battle tanks
She then rose higher to command a rebel regiment, it is claimed.
'People say to me - you were fighting, you were killing people,' she said.
'Yes, (and) in 2014 I became commander of the regimental headquarters. I do not justify myself. It was that sort of time. I did what I was ordered to do.'
Dryuk claimed that she has handed Kiev details of a plan drawn up last year under which Russia could would be inside Ukraine 'within four hours'.
She claimed 'special ID documents' have been created for 'every single Russian soldier who will enter' Ukraine.
These falsely indicate that the soldiers ate citizens of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions - meaning under International law that they are Ukrainian citizens, she said.
She is ready to give evidence to the International Court of Justice in The Hague, she added, and said she would now be ready to take up arms for Ukraine.
'If they tell me to take a machine gun – I will take a machine gun,' she said. 'If they tell me to go in a tank – I will go in a tank. It will be a Ukrainian tank.'
Having swapped sides, Dryuk says she would be willing to pick up arms against her former comrades, including leading tanks against them
Pro-Russian rebels say she has not defected and was instead captured by Ukraine while visiting family in Moldova before being forced into a staged confession
Former commander of rebel forces Igor Strelkov branded her a 'Judas' for switching sides, but confirmed her story about the destruction of the eight tanks.
Another source claimed she had been snared by a 'honeytrap' sting operation from Ukraine.
'Probably she did fall in love,' said blogger 'Chervonets Andryukha'. 'God will judge her but if she starts betraying her brothers and they are killed – it will be her personal tragedy and she will have to pay for it, so we can only sympathise with her.'
But the pro-Moscow rebel government in the so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) claimed their heroine had been kidnapped by Ukrainian intelligence from Moldova after she went there to visit relatives.
'Ukrainian special services and propagandists are actively working with Svetlana, using savage methods of influencing her through children and relatives and people close to her,' said a statement.
She was being forced to mouth 'ridiculous' statements.
She had been discharged from rebel forces at her request last year after serving from 2014-18 due to a medical condition for which she was hospitalised in Russia, said the DPR.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
