Lily Allen has accused the police of trying to use knowledge of her relationship with then boyfriend MC Meridian Dan to 'get rid' of her stalker case against Alex Gray.
The singer, 33, was speaking at the Women Of The World (WOW) event in London on Saturday when she claimed the police may have wanted to keep her case quiet because she was famous.
In a comment to MailOnline, a spokesman for the Metropolitan police said they kept in contact with the singer regularly, and claimed Lily found the police investigation satisfactory.

After years of obsessively following her, Gray broke into her home in October 2015 while she and her children were inside sleeping, leading to his conviction and detention under the Mental Health Act in 2016.
During her talk, Lily said officers told her the stalker wasn't a threat to her despite breaking into her home, and his stated intention to stab her.
Lily added that Meridian was in bed with her at the time, and said: 'That was not public knowledge, and I still think that the police used that against me: "She won't want the public to know that she has got a new boyfriend. We can kind of get rid of this story. She won't want people to think of her like that."'
'I don't know if it's because I'm a well-known person and they don't want it to be talked about in this way, because it's such a f****** issue clearly.'

She also said officers suggested Gray was 'probably just a drunk person that walked in off the streets' and into the bedroom she was sharing with her new partner.
She said: 'He said he wanted to put a knife through my face. She (a police officer) stopped the interview. She said that "I don't think he poses a threat to you. We should go for burglary".'
Allen added on the police response to her case: 'They will take the credit, but they don't do the work, they just don't.'

In a statement, the Met police said: 'The victim raised concerns with police action in 2016 relating to allegations of stalking, which were reviewed at the time by the Met’s Serious Case Review Group.
The victim and their representatives were regularly updated by the Met in regard to the review, which found the Met’s investigation to be satisfactory and that it took into account the appropriate levels of victim care, risk assessment, management and updates to the victim.'
They added: 'The investigation resulted in a successful prosecution. Senior officers also maintained regular contact with the victim to check on their welfare and listen to any concerns.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
