«Breaking News» 29 passengers injured in severe turbulence on Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to JFK Airport

Twenty-nine passengers are being treated for injuries sustained during major turbulence on a Turkish Airlines flight en route to John F Kennedy International Airport, authorities say.

Spokesman Steve Coleman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said that four passengers were taken to a hospital after the plane landed Saturday at 5.35pm.

One had a broken leg and others suffered bumps, bruises and cuts.

Coleman says most of the passengers were treated inside an airport terminal.

The New York City Fire Department tweeted about the incident on Saturday evening, reporting that all of the wounded, two of whom are children, had sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The FDNY initially reported that 32 people were injured but later downgraded the number to 29.

The Turkish Airlines Flight 1 reportedly encountered the turbulence about 45 minutes before landing at JFK.

The Boeing 777 had taken off from Istanbul with 326 passengers and 21 crew members.

The National Weather Service's Aviation Weather Center had warned pilots of severe turbulence over New England on Saturday evening.

The incident comes just hours after neighboring Newark Airport was forced to close all of its runways after a flight from Montreal to Fort Lauderdale made an emergency landing due to smoke in the cargo hold.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
