«Breaking News» Steve Harvey declares he is not interested in hosting the Oscars due to his 'past'

He's been a stalwart television host for decades.

But it seems as though Steve Harvey has no interest in hosting what some regard as the top gig: the Academy Awards.

The 61-year-old comedian told Entertainment Tonight on Friday that he would pass if such an opportunity presented itself.

'Hell, if they won't let Kevin Hart host the Oscars, how the hell are they going to let me host the Oscars,' he wondered.

The outlet caught him as he prepared for his latest job, hosting the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.

'Oh no, I can't host the Oscars,' he said when asked if he'd be interested.  

'I don't want to host the Oscars because I don't want them digging up my past,' he joked.  

Kevin Hart recently dropped out as host after old homophobic tweets were dredged up from his Twitter feed.

While Harvey has no interest in the Oscars, he is still quite excited about hosting the Miss Universe pageant which is taking place in Thailand.

'Who wouldn't want this on your resume? It's a great gig,' he told the outlet, before adding 'other than the first time I did it, it's been a great experience, you know?' 

The first year he hosted the show, back in 2015, he made a major gaff when he announced the wrong winning name.

The Miss Universe competition will air live on Fox on December 16th.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
