«Breaking News» Amazon Alexa responds to gap-toothed b**** line in Mean Girls

Amazon's Alexa isn't like a regular AI assistant. She's a cool AI assistant.

So cool, in fact, that she'll graciously accept an apology, even if it's coming from the television.

Twitter users Kylie Rogers found this out last week while watching Mean Girls, when her Alexa perked up at a line in the movie and responded to it.

Stop trying to make 'Alexa' happen! One student says sorry to a classmate named Alyssa for calling her a 'gap-toothed b****' — but Alexa hears the similar name as her own and responds

Kylie, a senior at Rutgers University in New Jersey, was watching the modern teen classic on Friday night when her AI companion unexpectedly chimed in.

'Just got to the part in Mean Girls where they’re doing their apologies and one girl says “Alexa, I’m sorry I called you a gap-toothed b****” and my Amazon Alexa said "no worries."'

The scene comes in the middle of the film, when Tina Fey's Mrs. Norbury has all the girls apologize to each other and do trust falls during detention in the school gym.

The line, uttered by a girl in an orange sweater, is actually: 'Alyssa, I'm sorry I called you a gap-toothed b****. It's not your fault you're so gap-toothed.'

Still, 'Alyssa' appeared to be close enough for Alexa, who is programmed to respond to comments and queries addressed to her.

The tweet quickly went viral, racking up Like 268,000 likes.

Of course, some people were skeptical that Alexa actually responded that way — and decided to test it out themselves.

'Mine said "No need to apologize,"' wrote a woman named Dana Simone from Michigan.

'I just said it to mine, and she said no need to apologize. Class act,' Waylan B. from Texas chimed in.

'I just tried to read this aloud and my Amazon Alexa said "it’s oka,," wrote a man named Kaleb Godfrey.

And Jose Sanchez from San Jose, California did the whole internet a favor by recording video of his Alexa while the Mean Girls scene played in the background — proving it really does get a response.

The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
