«Breaking News» Cancer-stricken wife BREAKS DOWN in tears when agents don't let her board with disabled husband

An American-based airline did not allow a disabled husband board a return flight home with his cancer-stricken wife who was reduced to tears just before she began chemotherapy.

Kathy and Terry Podraza were preparing to return home to Omaha, Nebraska after spending a few days visiting their new grandchild in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Terry is disabled, while Kathy has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver and colon cancer, according to Fox 5 DC TV.

They flew into the Washington, D.C. area to spend Christmas with their six-month-old grandbaby - the first time they had ever seen the child.

Then it was time to drive to Reagan National Airport for the return flight home on Saturday, according to USA Today.

Terry was allowed to pre-board, but he needed his wife to accompany him because of his disability.

But Southwest Airlines personnel at the gate would not allow her to board with her husband.

‘He told us that me having pre-boarding and being handicapped, that it was against the law for her to board at the same time as me,’ Terry said.

He needed to board on his own with the help of his cane.

Even though Kathy wasn’t allowed to board, her boarding ticket was accidentally scanned and taken by the ticket agent.

This caused problems later, when she had to wait until all the other passengers were invited to board.

"All he had to do is ask me my name and he would have seen that he had already scanned my boarding pass," said Kathy.

Having had her boarding pass already scanned and taken from her, there was no way for Kathy to board.

Finally, the stress of the situation - compounded by the fact that she was two days before intense chemotherapy - led her to break down in tears.

After a few moments, the agents managed to resolve the issue and Kathy was allowed to board.

Needing something to take the edge off, a kind flight attendant brought over a mimosa.

Southwest Airlines released a statement when asked about the incident.

'It’s our hope that every journey leaves our Customers feeling they had a great experience and so we’re disheartened to learn that wasn’t the case here,' Southwest told USA TODAY in a statement.

'Our people are well versed in our published preboarding policies, and they work hard to enforce the integrity of those procedures specifically designed to ensure care and attention to unique travel needs of customers with disabilities.

'We’ve reached back to this customer to learn more about his concerns and experience.

'If there were any missed opportunities, we’d have those conversations internally.'

The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
