«Breaking News» Retired New York cop appeals for help tracing baby he delivered on duty 25 years ago

A retired New York police officer who helped deliver a baby while on overnight duty in 1994 has launched an online campaign to find her.

Angel Maysonet has appealed to the public for help in tracking down the baby, now a 24 or 25-year-old woman, saying he wants to make sure she's doing OK.

The only clues are an old photograph of Maysonet with the newborn and an address in Marmion Avenue, Bronx where he and his partner James Bennett helped bring her into the world on a hot summer night in the mid-90s.

That night, which the former detective says was one of the highlights of his career, Maysonet and Bennett responded to a 911 call at around 4am for a woman in labor.

Maysonet and Bennett, who were both in their 20s, climbed six flights of stairs to the apartment and tried to reassure the pregnant woman before emergency medical services arrived.

But there was no time to waste.

'She was not crowning the way she should,' Maysonet told the NY Post. 'So, I got in there, turned the baby … and pulled the baby out.'

He helped to safely deliver the little girl in front of her mother's sister and three or four of her older siblings.

The baby's aunt fetched two clothing pins to clamp the umbilical cord.

'She was wrapped up in this blanket to keep her warm, and she looked like a little burrito,' he told the Post.

NYPD shared a photo of the heartwarming moment, taken by Bennett, asking for the public's help in reconnecting the pair.

'Help us reunite them!,' the department wrote on Monday.

'In 1994, Detective Maysonet delivered a beautiful baby girl on Marmion Ave in the Bronx.

'Helping ensure she was safely delivered has always been one of the highlights of this retired detective's career. 25 years later, he's still wondering how she's doing.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
