«Breaking News» Congresswoman circulates letter to gather support from lawmakers to impeach Trump for alleged crimes

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is circulating a letter to her colleagues asking them to support an investigation into whether President Trump committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

Tlaib infamously pledged to 'impeach the motherf**ker' her first week in office, and now, she's taking steps to do it, asking Democratic lawmakers to attach their names to a resolution that would formally begin the process.

Among the possible crimes that Tlaib wants investigated: indirect and direct payments to the president or his businesses or regulatory approval that would benefit foreign governments.

The freshman congresswoman also wants the House of Representatives to look into former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's claims that the president directed him to pay off women prior to the 2016 election.

Tlaib says a review of the special counsel's evidence on obstruction of justice is also necessary.

Congressional committees are already probing Donald Trump's businesses, and lawmakers leading panels with jurisdiction over the Justice Department and intelligence community have pledged to pick through Mueller's findings looking for links to crimes that the president or his associates may have committed that were outside the scope of the Russian meddling investigation.

They are asking Attorney General William Barr to come before Congress to explain his conclusion that Trump did not obstruct justice when he fired former FBI Director James Comey and met with Russian officials the very next day in the Oval Office.

Some lawmakers have said they want to Mueller to testify on the report he turned into the Justice Department. It has not been released to the public or Congress.

Barr told legislators in a letter that Mueller did not reach a determination on obstruction, leaving the task to himself and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Tlaib's office was unavailable for comment on Tuesday morning on the resolution she put forward a day after Barr provided lawmakers with principle takeaways from the special counsel's report.

The declaration that was published online by several news outlets specifically called on the Judiciary Committee to determine whether the Congress should initiate a process to remove Trump from office.

'Resolved, That the Committee on the Judiciary shall inquire whether the House should impeach Donald John Trump, President of the United States of America,' it begins.

'SEC. 2. The Committee on the Judiciary or any subcommittee or task force designated by the Committee may, in connection with the inquiry under this resolution, take affidavits and depositions by a member, counsel, or consultant of the Committee, pursuant to notice or subpoena.

'SEC. 3. There shall be paid out of the applicable accounts of the House such sums as may be necessary to assist the Committee on the Judiciary in conducting the inquiry under this resolution, any of which may be used for the procurement of staff or consultant services.'

Tlaib said the investigation is necessary because Mueller and the Southern District of New York are investigating actions Trump may have taken before he was sworn in.

'However, the most dangerous threat to our democracy is President Trump’s actions since taking the oath of office,' she stated in her letter. 'Much of the allegations have yet to be fully investigated by this body who also took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. It is critical that we protect the American people and our country from any conflicts of interests that directly erodes our democracy.'

She said it is up to the House Judiciary Committee to 'inquire whether President Trump committed impeachable offenses' and to the Congress at large to provide an 'open and transparent process with the sole goal of ensuring we know the truth and make sure it does not continue, nor happen again.'

'I, firmly, believe that the House Committee on Judiciary should seek out whether President Trump has committed “High crimes and Misdemeanors” as designated by the U.S. Constitution and if the facts support those findings, that Congress begin impeachment proceedings,' she states.

Earlier in March, she said at a news conference that she would pursue impeachment.

'This is an emergency for many of us,' she said of the resolution she planned to introduce. 'We cannot allow the pay-to-play to continue. We cannot allow the direct violation of the Emoluments Clause. Anybody else would already be in impeachment proceedings.'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has asked her colleagues seeking impeachment to tone down the rhetoric, and President Trump has said his enemies in Congress will be unsuccessful.

'You can't impeach somebody that's doing a great job. That's how I view it,' he said at a January news conference in response to a question about Tlaib's impeachment proclamation.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
