«Breaking News» Trump blasts 'hostile and corrupt media' as he defends his administration's accomplishments

President Donald Trump blasted the 'hostile and corrupt media' as he defended his administration as having 'accomplished more in its first two years than any other.'

His defensive posture comes after Friday's tough job news and the president backed up his claims with by touting the GOP tax cut, the judges he has appointed and the employment numbers in the U.S.

'Despite the most hostile and corrupt media in the history of American politics, the Trump Administration has accomplished more in its first two years than any other Administration. Judges, biggest Tax & Regulation Cuts, V.A. Choice, Best Economy, Lowest Unemployment & much more!,' the president tweeted Sunday morning.

'More people are working today in the United States, 158,000,000, than at any time in our Country’s history. That is a Big Deal!,' he added.

The president is in Mar-a-Lago, where he headed to the golf course for the second day in the row. Later in the afternoon he will address a GOP fundraiser before he and the first lady return to the White House.

President Trump regularly slams negative coverage of his administration as 'fake news.'

On Friday, it was revealed that hiring tumbled in February as U.S. employers added just 20,000 jobs, the fewest in nearly a year and a half.

Trump and officials in his administration defended the U.S. economy as strong and on the right track.

'I think the big news really was that wages went up, and that's great for the American worker,' the president told reporters as he left the White House on Friday. 'That's something people -- I don't know if they ever expected to see it.'

'We're seeing wages rise more than they have at any time for a long, long time,' he said.

'The economy is very, very strong. If you look at the stock market over the last few months it's been great. And certainly since my election it's up.'

But the markets reacted to the figures poorly, with the Dow Jones falling sharply when it opened an hour after they were published, adding to a losing streak which began at the end of last month.

Trump's chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow said in a CNBC interview that 20,000 jobs is 'a very flukey number.'

Troubles ahead: Jobs pullback comes amid signs that growth is slowing because of a weaker global economy, a trade war between the United States and China, and signs of caution among consumers

'The unemployment rate fell, right?' he asked, emphasizing that wages grew significantly. Kudlow also blamed factors beyond the White House's control.

'I think you have timing issues with respect to the government shutdown, winter, seasonal issues. Very flukey. I wouldn't pay any attention to it, to be honest with you,' he said.

February's sharp slowdown in hiring, which may have been worsened by unseasonably cold weather, comes after employers added a blockbuster 311,000 jobs in January, the most in nearly a year.

In the past three months, job gains have averaged 186,000.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
