«Breaking News» Emmerdale's Amy Walsh discusses Britain's knife crime crisis

Viewers will watch her character Tracey Metcalfe get arrested after defending her friend in a racist attack.

But actress Amy Walsh, 31, admitted she's not sure she would step in to a real-life fight, citing knife crime in Britain.

The TV star, who is the younger sister of Girls Aloud hitmaker Kimberley, admitted she thinks society is 'dangerous' and would fear for her safety in a similar situation.

She told The Mirror: 'I’d like to think I’d stick up for someone but equally you have to be quite careful.

'I’d think twice. If someone was seriously at risk I think I would keep quiet unless it affected me, which is a sad thing. It’s a sign of society. It’s very dangerous out there.'

Amy pointed out that if someone said something she disagreed with she would defend herself.

However, she added: 'But you have to be careful. Don’t try to be the hero when it’s not your argument to fight.'

On Friday's episode of the soap, viewers will see Tracey land in hot water with the police after standing up for her love interest Billy (Jay Kontzle).

The police receive a phone call from someone who reports a man acting suspiciously around children in a park.

Convinced racism is the real reason for the accusation, Tracey confronts the parent who made the call and ends up in cuffs.

While Amy's older sister Kimberley found fame with Girls Aloud, her other sister Sally also starred on Emmerdale as Lyn Hutchison from 1997 to 2000.

Speaking to The Sun Online, Amy fondly recalled the shows she and her sisters would put on as children.

She said: 'It was a bit like Fame in our house. There are so many videos of us doing shows when we were kids.

'There’s one of us at my grandma and grandad’s wedding anniversary. Now I think – those poor people.

'They think they’ve gone to a party and then they’re subjected to loads of kids putting on a show!'

The TV star, who is the younger sister of Girls Aloud...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
