«Breaking News» Masterchef viewers double-take at contestant who’s a Jeremy Corbyn doppelganger

Jeremy Corbyn made a surprise appearance on Masterchef last week.

Or at least viewers thought he did when a contestant's grey stubble reminded them of the Labour leader.

Geoff Warburton, 56, won a place in the final of this year's Masterchef last night after he impressed judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with his antipasto board.

But outraged viewers took to Twitter to joke labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was neglecting his parliamentary duties by appearing on Masterchef.

One viewer said Jeremy Corbyn came across 'quite a nice bloke' on the show.

But another blasted the politician for 'legit putting more effort into Masterchef than being Leader of the Opppostion'.

Mr Warburton, a psychologist who lives in London, specialises in love and dealing with grief and hopes to become a food and travel writer.

Emma FitzG tweeted: 'Does anybody else think Geoff from masterchef reminds them of a younger looking, taller, trimmed beard Jeremy Corbyn?

'He really reminds me of Jezza in the way he speaks too. He seems so chill and his job of a ‘love therapist’ (or did I make that up) seems so on brand.'

And Rob Smedley joked it was confusing to like Geoff when he did not like Jeremy Corbyn despite the similarity between the two men.

Geoff's appearance on the show caused a Twitter storm as viewers discussed how much he looked like the leader of the Labour party

He said: 'There's a chap on who I like, but he looks, through no fault of his own, like Jeremy Corbyn, who I do not like.

'It's all very confusing. But then I look like Brian Blessed on meth, so honestly who am I to judge.'

The 2019 final will air Friday at 9pm on BBC One when the three remaining finalists will battle it out to produce the best three dishes for the judges to become the 15th Masterchef winner.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
