«Breaking News» Belfast mystery as girl found dead in road after second vehicle found crashed in 'linked' accident

Police are working to link the mysterious death of a 17-year-old girl outside a city centre hospital to a car crash that happened moments earlier five miles away.

The girl's body was found in the road near Belfast City Hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning - but may be linked to a car accident on the outskirts of the city 20 minutes earlier.

A silver Mercedes ended up on its roof in undergrowth near a roundabout on Ballygowen Road, south-east of Belfast, at 2.35am.

Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) rushed an injured man from the scene to hospital for treatment.

Just minutes later - at 2.55am - paramedics found the girl next to a grey MG car near Belfast City Hospital on the Lisburn Road.

She was later pronounced dead and a post-mortem is set to follow.

There was a large police presence on the southern side of the city near the hospital following the incident.

And an area around Dunluce Avenue had been cordoned off with police tape, with officers on the scene.

Chief Inspector Michael Gregg said: 'Our investigation is at an early stage, however, we believe there is a link between the collision on Ballygowan Road in the vicinity of its junction with Manse Road, and the discovery of the teenager's body.

'We need to know how this young girl was brought to the hospital, by whom and from where.'

He continued: 'I have a number of appeals to make this evening.

'Were you in the Manse Road area/general Ballygowan area between 1am and 2.30am this morning?

'Did you see a car matching the description of the silver Mercedes? Did you witness the collision? Did you see any other vehicles in the time after the collision, including a grey MG?

'If you were on the road at these times, please think back to what you may have seen. It's important we can track the movement of the vehicle involved to help us establish what happened.

'I also want to appeal to anyone who was in the Belfast City Hospital/Lisburn Road area of the city this morning and saw a grey MG to please call us.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
