«Breaking News» Woman in her 40s is arrested after man is left fighting for life in Soho stabbing

A man has been arrested in connection with two 'linked' stabbings in central London on Sunday.

Scotland Yard said a 37-year-old man was left fighting for his life in hospital after a stabbing in Soho at 6am.

Later the same morning police were called to a stabbing on University Street in Camden, where a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with 'life-threatening' injuries.

A man in his 30s was arrested nearby in connection with the attack and was then further arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over the earlier stabbing, police said.

A woman in her 40s had also been arrested near the scene of the Soho stabbing early on Sunday, and remains in custody.

A Met spokesman said: 'Police were called just after 6am on Sunday, March 3, to a man suffering stab injuries in Romilly Street.

'The male, believed to be aged in his 30s, has been taken to hospital. His condition is being treated as life-threatening at this time.

'A woman, aged in her 40s, was arrested near to the scene. She has been taken to a central London police station where she remains in custody.'

Witnesses should call the police on 101 quoting reference 1783/mar03.

The stabbing was one of dozens in the capital in the last few weeks, and followed the killing of 17-year-old Jodie Chesney in Havering on Friday night.

The teenager was stabbed in the back around 9.25am in a park at Harold Hill, before being pronounced dead.

Sadiq Khan said he was 'filled with anger' and 'devastated' by the killing of the teenager.

In a tweet this morning, the Mayor of London said: 'Devastated by the fatal stabbing of a 17 year-old girl in Havering.

'My thoughts are with her loved ones. It fills me with anger that violent criminals are targeting young Londoners with their whole lives before them. I encourage anyone with information to contact the police.'

It's the latest brutal killing in the capital after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death outside Ilford train station in east London on Tuesday.

Che Morrison was knifed after a fight broke out just before 8.50pm. Witnesses said he was 'slashed in the face' during the attack.

Nineteen-year-old Kamali Gabbidon-Lynck was also fatally stabbed by a gang riding bikes in Wood Green, north London, last week.

He was chased into a hair salon by men armed with a firearm, knives and a samurai sword on February 22 and slaughtered in front of children.

A day earlier, a 23-year-old man - Glendon Spence - was stabbed to death in Brixton, south London, at a youth club which had children as young as seven inside.

Due to the spate of violence, Met officers are out in force carrying out a series of stop and searches around the capital today.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
