«Breaking News» UK weather: Hotter than Ibiza! Temperatures to reach 65F by Friday

Parts of Britain could be hotter than the likes of Ibiza and Rome this week as temperatures soar to 64F (18C).

Lengthy spells of sunshine are expected this week amid settled conditions, with the Met Office backing a much warmer-than-usual next few months - and conditions also forecast to beat those in Barcelona on Friday.

Today will be dry and bright day for most areas with spells of clouds and sunshine, although there will also be a brisk west to north westerly breeze and possibly showers in northern and areas and along the North Sea coastline.

It will be a cold night tonight with mostly light winds which will allow for patches of mist or fog to develop, even some frost in places. Scotland will see cloudier weather with patchy rain over parts of the Highlands.

Tomorrow will be a mostly dry and fine day with lengthy spells of sunshine and blue skies, but there will also be plenty of patchy cloud. It will also be breezy across northern areas of Scotland with mostly light rain.

The weather on Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly dry with sunny spells and patchy cloud. However it will be breezy in the north with occasional light rain. Temperatures on Friday could then get up to 64F (18C) in London.

This would be warmer than Ibiza and Rome (both 17C) and Barcelona (15C). Looking further ahead, the Met Office said a much warmer-than-usual March to May is five times more likely than much cooler conditions.

'Well above average' temperatures over spring – a category which includes 2011 and 2017's hottest springs since records began - is a 50 per cent probability, compared to 10 per cent for 'well below average' temperatures.

The three-month forecast said: 'For March-May, above-average temperatures are more likely than below-average. The probability UK average temperatures will fall into the warmest of our five categories is 50 per cent. 

'The coldest category is 10 per cent. Some long-range prediction systems indicate an increased chance of high pressure to the south of the UK.'

The highest temperature in the UK yesterday was the 59.2F (15.1C) recorded at St James's Park in London.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
