«Breaking News» Stunned subway rider finds RAT stuck inside coin dispenser of a MetroCard vending machine

Guess the MTA is really cracking down on fare evasion.

A subway rider was stunned to find a rat trapped inside the change dispenser of a Manhattan subway MetroCard machine on Tuesday.  

The pesky critter was discovered at the 23rd Street station, where the 1 train stops, and was filmed in a video posted onto the Subway Creatures Instagram.

Shocking video posted on Tuesday shows a large rodent trapped inside the change dispenser of a Manhattan subway MetroCard machine

It can be seen scurrying in an effort to get out of the kiosk, even managing to get the flap partially open before it closes again. 

Quickly going viral, people shared the wild visual and added their own commentary and theories as to what was going on. 

'Honestly the NYC rats can probably run the MTA better than the multiple shady entities currently running it,' said user Lena Barsky.

Vanessa Parra added: 'We wish our new rat overlords the best of luck in managing the MTA.' 

'MTA be like: "Well, at least the rat isn't evading his fare!"' stated a different user. 

Another asserted: 'I know the MTA is hard up for money but now asking RATS to pay ride the subway is to much.'

'“YO LEMME GET A SWIPE” -Rat in the MTA machine,' joked a user. 

The visual was shocking for MTA personnel, who weren't familiar with the type of occurrence happening before. 

'This is very troubling and we're looking into how it could've happened, including the possibility that someone may have planted it,' MTA spokesman Andrei Berman said, according to the New York Daily News. 'This is clearly an anomaly.' 

On Tuesday afternoon, a MTA supervisor went to the station but reported that the rat was nowhere to be found.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
