«Breaking News» Rio Carnival dancer dresses up as Michael Jackson despite furore over child abuse allegations

A samba dancer at Carnival in Rio de Janeiro dressed up as Michael Jackson last night, despite outrage over the singer's child abuse allegations.

Fabricio Pires, from the Sao Clemente samba school, donned the pop legend's iconic white glove and instantly recognisable military-style jacket for the performance.

He also wore his trademark black-shoe-white-sock combination, a fedora, and Jackson's signature sunglasses. 

The tasteless costume choice comes just a day after HBO's documentary Leaving Neverland aired for the first time.

The dancer was joined by flag bearer Giovanna Justo who was dressed as Madonna. Pires wore a military-style jacket alongside Jackson's trademark single white glove

In the bombshell documentary, Wade Robson and James Safechuck allege that the King of Pop sexually assaulted and raped them when they were seven and ten respectively.

Mr Robson said in an interview with the BBC last week: 'Every time I stayed the night with him, he abused me. Fondling, touching, my entire body and my penis.' 

The late singer’s family has denied the allegations and his estate is reportedly suing HBO for $100million (£75.5million). 

As backlash over the allegations mounts, a number of radio stations appear to have dropped Jackson's music - including BBC Radio 2.

Pires wore the costume at the second night of Rio's Carnival parade at the Sambadrome.

There are five nights of celebrations at the Sambadrome, ahead of the start of Lent.  

He was joined by flagbearer Giovanna Justo who was dressed as Madonna for the show.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
