The new film will explore the 'toll of sexual harassment, assault and violation in the workplace.'

Oprah also has a multi-part documentary series in the works that's currently untitled, but will focus on the impact of mental illness.

The show will address how the 'scourge of depression and anxiety, post-traumatic stress, addiction, trauma, and loss is just devastating lives daily across the globe,' she explained.

'And what I know is, if we do our jobs right, we're going to replace shame and we're going to replace stigma with wisdom, with some compassion and with honesty.'

The Beloved star was most excited about a new facet of her book club, for which she would broadcast live interviews with the selected authors.

'Imagine, where Apple stores stream a conversation with the author and me, live, across all devices, across all borders, united people to stories that remind us no matter who you are, or where you're from, every man, woman and child looks up in awe at the same sky,' she said.

Spielberg was on hand to announce a rebooted version of Amazing Stories from his production company, Amblin Entertainment.

The director's collaboration with Oprah goes back decades. She appeared in his critically acclaimed 1985 adaptation of The Color Purple, for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Still waiting: Despite the optimistic tone of the event, release dates weren't provided for any of the upcoming projects, though more information will presumably be available last this year

Oprah's original book club was started in 1996 and came to an end in 2011.

A version 2.0 was started in 2012 with a greater focus on online accessibility and social media. Her new collaboration with Apple seems like a logical extension of the goals of the newer book club.

One of her fellow presenters also drew online criticism. After trying to change the rules for Oscar eligibility that were perceived as an attack on Netflix by some, Spielberg drew criticism for collaborating with a rival streaming service.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
