Nicole Kidman has been branded a 'maniac in the bed' by her husband Keith Urban.

The actress, 51, is the subject of the lyrics to new track Gemini, penned by the country music star, 51 - and he admitted his wife of almost 13 years 'loves' the song. 

The musician opened up about the raunchy words in an interview with the i newspaper on Friday, giving an insight into the couple's marriage.

The lyrics include: 'She's a maniac in the bed, But a brainiac in her head.' 

Keith explained that line in response to a request from his co-writer Julia Michaels, who had asked him to 'describe' the Big Little Lies star.

He said: 'It's a fun song. My co-writer Julia Michaels asked me to describe Nicole and that's what came out. "She is Gemini, but she's not a contradiction. She can roll with things".'   

The full verse, which features on his album Grafitti, reads: 'She's a maniac in the bed/But a brainiac in her head/And I know that everybody knows/Ooh, that she's both.'

Further lyrics in the track, which is about the actress, read: 'A little bit left, a little bit right. She's waking to make love in the middle of the night.' 

The couple tied the knot in Sydney, Australia, in June 2006 and are parents to two daughters; Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, eight. 

Nicole was previously married to Tom Cruise between 1990 and 2001.

The actress opened up about her sexual preferences in an interview with GQ Magazine in 2009, in which she says she loved experimenting with 'strange sexual fetish stuff'.

She told the publication: 'My life has been about exploring types of love. I've explored obsession, I've explored strange sexual fetish stuff, I've explored the mundane aspect of marriage and monogamy. But I'm still on that journey.'

Last month Nicole, who also has children Isabella, 26, and Connor, 24, with ex-husband Tom, gushed over Keith in an adorable Valentine's Day Instagram post.

Sharing a loved-up snap of the pair at the Golden Globes this year, Nicole captioned the image with a quote from her hit 2001 film Moulin Rouge.  

She wrote: 'The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.'

Nicole, who married Keith in 2006, recently revealed she would have loved to have had a big brood with the singing superstar.

'We go, "Oh gosh, I wonder if we met when we were 25, then we could have had 10 of them!"' she told PEOPLE.

'But Keith says, "Stop the wanting mind." It’s far better to be completely in love and satiated with what you’ve been given, what we’ve been given.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
